Okay after 3 days in Bangkok it was time for Pattaya. Sheesh. Bangkok has nothing on this place. The beachside setting is much nicer, even if it is isnt quite phuket.

Regarding iii Som, you have some bad logic on paying. The "oh well, I overpaid by 600 baht" (assuming the 2000 covered the room price & not just the girl's fee) sucks for others as you noted. And your reasoning was that maybe that will make her stay??? Didn't you listen to her? She said she wanted to go to Malaysia as soon as she had work or money. Well, your extra payment enables her to leave. If you want her to stay, then tell her you will send money to her family for their sick water buffalo or to help pay needs on the farm, then she'll stick around for you.

I've got an appointment with a freelancer today. I noticed several guys have been bumping up the price on her lately. If she tries to up sell me, can I get your number and have you wire me the extra $ since you're up for paying more?

Just to be clear, I'm not against tipping or adding a little extra, but there is a difference between a 60% tip and a 10-12% tip.
