The reality is that fiwfans is a Thai-centric scene, and IMO it's been getting worse for us non-Thais recently.

During the pandemic, fiwfans (and its predecessor offdek) were an interesting resource. Everything changes in the floating world, and now Bangkok heaves with all manner of mongers. We got squads of crypto bros, phalanxes of Chinese, dragoons of Koreans, et cetera. Sprinkled among all these tourists are Bangkok residents including plenty of Japanese guys.

Some of these dudes cheerfully shred stacks of baht in gogo bars, where predatory mamasans pluck cash from wallets of tipsy horndogs. Others pack into pricey clubs like Black Caviar or Dubai Luxury Club for five-figure romps with "models" and declare "Whoo, I spent that much in Vegas, brooooo..."

Bangkok is not Las Vegas. The regulatory environment is far different, and there are areas of town where the cops perform organized shakedowns. Most Thais are honest but there's a subset that has learned how easy it is to get farangs to cough up spontaneous cash payments. I don't care what you paid in Vegas or Frankfurt or Tokyo--Bangkok is a different value equation.

The bottom line: if you want service, an establishment like a "massage" shop in the Phrom Pong area will be more consistent than other options. That's the bottom line for high season 2024.

Very true. The massage shop scene is a lot more reliable or the Outcall massages offer a lot better value for money.

They are unbiased and very much service oriented.
