I remeber the swimming one in Sydney.  This is where the Olympics degenerates into a farce.  Thanks for the reminder and the rest of the links!

Yep, he retired about 18 months ago.  I don't think he really enjoyed the limelight.  The press were hounding him a fair bit.  He is a pretty shy sort of preson and I think he just got to the stage of saying enough.  It is swimmings loss....he was awesome.  But now there is Miechael Phelps......8 GOLD medals.  Won more gold medals than any other olympic athlete in the history of the games.  Now THAT is awesome.

  The swimming video is really funny and I hadn't seen it before. I was laughing all
the way through the 'race'. I swim once or twice a week and I'm gonna have to time myself;
I'm sure I'm faster than that guy. I thought he wasn't even gonna be able to finish.
