Where can I find a great tailor in HK

Hey guys, usually buy Hugo Boss or Zegna suits normally - so good quality.  Bought a tailored suit in HK on my last visit and am not really happy with the finish.  Does anyone know of a great tailor in HK that does a great job at a reasonable price?  And how much would I need to spend.  Am coming through HK again in September and would like to buy another couple of suits if they were of good quality.

Cheers

Yep, I'm with you there hunter.  Just thought that there moight be somewhere in HK that someone has had a really good experience.  Not too concerned about the cut, because that can be copied....it's more about the finish, the material, the lining etc.

Might have to just buy the original.

Hey Robo, I am happy to spend what it takes to get good quality.  I would normally spend anywhere from HKD4,500 to HKD8,000 in Australia for Boss or Zegna.  Would want a better price than that. Have bought a couple of tailored suits from HK in the past and while the tailoring is good I wasn't all that please with the quality of the cloth.  The last suit I bought in HK cost me around HKD3,000.  Does that sound right?

Dude, only wear the suits becuase I have to.  Would rather be in casual clothes but business dictates....  I have to say though that you can easily tell the difference in quality - a cheap suit or a Zegna - there is no comparison.  ALways happy to have a wingman!

you know what go for giorgio armani. Once I got a suit from there about HKD 10,000 include personal tailor who readjust to ur size and once I wore it, I looked unbelievable good and felt great, never look back for less than 10 grand since.

I guess even if some loser wear that suit he will certainly looks loaded

The key is to find one with good workmanship--then the price depends on the fabric you select-the better the fabric, the higher the cost.  For years I have used Poon Kee at 65 Wellington Street, 1st floor.  Looks like a dump but the quality is excellent.  They have the fashion books to select the cut you want.  It's been 3 years sine I made a suit, but at that time the cost was $2500 for a topline tropical wool, likely more now
