Used Rolex Watches

Hey guyz,

Seem all I do these days is dig up stuff to sell! My parents got new watches and want to get rid of a couple of old Rolexes.
I'm not exactly into watches so it would be nice if there were any knowledgable folk out there in the know that can help me out with advice on how much I can expect to get for them at a dealer or if i should try to sell them myself online.
I don't want to get shafted and low balled because I don't know the prices they should fairly fetch me.

Beers on me if you wanna meet up and examine them to get a better grasp on what they are worth.
PM me for my tel. no.

BTW, there is one Ladies Datejust and one Men's Geneva if that can help with some ball park figures before i go haggling.

Cheers

go to a  few pawn shops to get an indicative price first. Pawn shops know the market price better than anyone else.

check what they are selling for on eBay as well. They have a big range of Rolex and a wide variety of prices and conditions.

Thing is is, I want to make sure they are real first.  The lady's watch should be legit but the men's watch i'm having trouble even finding out what type it is because its one of those flat n slim ones.  I think this one is really old and the gold parts still look like gold with some scratches but there isn't any signs of a base metal and it feels right and well made like the real thing.

Here is a link to a pic of it, any idea what model it is?

I'd like to do a bit more research on the prices before I go offer them because I don't want to get low balled because i don't know anything them!

I also have an old gold Du Pont lighter, supposedly these can be worth something, any ideas?

Cheers folks

Actually, all you need to do is to take it to Rolex service and ask them to quote you the price for servicing both watches ... if they are fake they'll tell you right away and if they are genuine you can ask thim for the info that you need

I would take them to sothebys to get them appraised. Old watches like that could turn out to be collectors items

Like others have said I really suggesting having them authenticated.

Go to your nearest rolex center, ask for an authentication, It will come with a receipt and youll pay about 70-80 USD just for that but at least you will know what model and facts about it. At least when you want to sell it, you can now advertise the authentication youve done. Once you have the model from that authentication, simply look around the internet for selling prices on that model.

Cheers
