STD's on the home front.

Just a quick note about something that just happened to me.
I decided to get a complete test done for all possible forms of STD's at my doctors office. Got the test and all is well as I expected it would be, but better safe than sorry. Now the shocker!!! My insurance company (at least I think that was who it was from), sent to my home a form letter asking if I wanted to protest any of the charges for the following tests I had done on such and such a date! Thank my lucky stars that my wife doesn't open my mail or I would be in the divorce process right now!
Word of caution--be sure the tests do not somehow bite you on the ass! The pain involved at home could be worse than the disease itself!!!!
Comment: If we can not keep this information private, we will not get tested as we should, thereby greatly increasing the risk of passing on STD's and or getting them ourselves!!! Somewhere there is a really bad policy of making this information public!!!! MRCLEN

To be honest, I would say that your level of caution is not nearly high enough. Your punting life and your home life should remain completely separate. Separate names, separate phones, separate emails, and separate doctors (and the doctors should not know your real name -- easy to achieve at STD testing centers, where anonymity is the norm).

Occasionally, you might find a good friend who also punts, and you might want to share stories with him. Even then, make sure of a couple of things before proceeding. First, make sure that he has as much to lose by being exposed as you do. If you are married and he is single, then don't do it. When you and he fall out over that money he won't repay you, he can dip you in shit without suffering much himself. Second, make sure that each of you know that if you get found out, you won't drop the other one in shit. Third, realize that if he is found out and tells his wife that you do it too, his wife will tell your wife.

And on and on it goes.

Like I say, you are not being cautious enough.

JMHO.

Point well made!  I have got to tighten up.  As it is, I don't punt unless there is a ocean between, but extra precautions are called for.  The separate name, email, and phone is easy enough, and even a separate Skype account.  I think so far in most regards I have been careful, BUT, it can't hurt to tighten up a bit more.  This thing of the insurance company sending the info to my home got my attention on just how easy it would be to get caught with your shorts down!!!  mrclen

I would just say it's part of the routine blood testing since they've already taken a sample, it's all included.  I know during my physicals there are certain STD that are tested such as herpes, hepatitis and I've even seen chlamydia on one that I took years ago.
