Facts behind the production of Porn Movies

Here are some 'Food For Thoughts' that i have gathered for all bros pleasure of readings and even some may finds it informative..Here they are:-

Useful Facts Behind The Productions of a Porn Movies

1) Porn artists are 100% LIED when they say that they are enjoying doing Porn. Eventhough female pornstars are not surprisingly are 10times the pay that their make counterparts gets, but the process of making a porn is actually will go on for 18hours straight depending on the company's tight production budgets and costs and in one day, the pornstars normally shoot 3 to 4 different scenes of one title..Sometimes they could surprisingly have to shoots 2 titles a day.

2) Each scene normally lasted for hours and it all depends on how well the actors & actresses performed that day or if they impress the director or not. Sometimes the actresses have to take a quick rest while doing a hardcore scene. For instance during the Anal Scenes, sometimes the shhoting have to be stopped because the actresses couldn't bare the pain.

3) while waiting for their next scenes or first scene of the day, normally both actors & actresses will spend their time in the restroom or relax lounge for a heavy drinking or maybe some drugs to kill the pains or the 'camera shy' for the next scenes. F.Y.I, in the adult movie industry, only the HIV test are compulsory to be taken by the stars(Once a month) but NOT the drug test. This has allowed these stars to consume drugs and in directly encourages them to use drugs.

4) While porn scenes always appears very arousing & enjoyable to the viewers, the truth actually hurts on the other hand. Scene shoots are always a mentally & physically torturing especially to the female artist cos having 12-18 peoples standing and watching them behind the 'main stage' (imagine people are watching you having sex) from a director & his assistant, fans who won the 'Watch your star performing live in set' contest until the lighting man & photographer whom always have the priority to 'freeze' the scene during shootings for a better camera angle.

5) Porn Artist are a well-known professional liar cos if the reveal the truth about the 'behind the scene' of porn film makings, therefore it'll break so many porn fanatics heart and of course their career. Here's the irony...their ability to be an excellent liar, has actually made them a better actresses than some Hollywood actresses. Don't you agree?

6) Throughout the year 1997, 9 Pornstar died due to HIV.

7) 66% of Adult Film stars suffered from Herpes and around 12%-28% suffered other related sexual transmitted decease.

8) Since 1990, it has been reported that 26 pornstars have committed suicide.

9) Since 1990, 45 pornstars have died due to drug overdosed.

10) More than 90 pornstar tested positive for HIV, 25 of them are still alive to this day.

11) Between the year 2003 until 2005, 976 pornstar was reported to be suffering from related sexual transmitted decease of its kind.

Wkleong2. Thanks for posting this point of view. However, this list is very strange to me. I do not take it as a list of facts, since there is ample documentary evidence to the contrary (and I provide a link to one such study at the end of this post). I do not doubt, however, that every point has some truth in it. For example:

1) It seems to me that some will enjoy it in the same way that some farmers enjoy the 18 hours per day of work during the harvest season. Similarly, commercial fishermen endure amazing hardships during their fishing season, including working at least 18 hours per day in tough and dangerous work situations aboard ship (just watch "The Deadliest Catch" for details). The point is, people often choose quite difficult things to do, that involve hardship. Porn stars are not unique in this respect.

2) Please don't forget that porn stars are not all the same. There are some who are "just actors", while others are directors, producers, financiers, and so on. As with many other jobs, there is a whole spectrum of abilities that differentiate them. As for your mention of the anal scenes, there is no particular reason to believe that the anal scenes are any more or less painful than the other scenes. I have no doubt that, on many occasions, filming is stopped for these reasons too: muscle cramps from being in unusual positions; loss of erection; need to go to the toilet; lunch. In the mix somewhere will be situations where an accident of some kind occurs, and a guy's penis got bent or a girl's anus or vagina got stretched. I'm sure it happens, but I don't think it "defines" what happens on set.

3) Just try working at any socially remote environment, and you will find drug users. The work is long and not easy, and the pay is relatively good. This is a mixture that allows people to get caught up in drugs and alcohol. However, it will not be everybody who partakes. Some will, some won't. And let's not forget that there's a big difference between smoking a cigarette/joint and doing cocaine. And no, I'm not really "discussing drugs" here, I'm just saying "people are people", and I don'tt see a reason to suspect that there's anything particularly unique about porn stars when it comes to drug use. I don't see how it "encourages" them to use drugs, but like many other parts of life, it does "allow" them to do so.

4) Actually, I think most porn scenes are very boring. Only a small portion are arousing. But I do not subscribe to your "mentally torturing" point of view. Of course, there will be some who try it out and absolutely hate it. Given the large numbers of people involved, it likely wouldn't be hard to find some of them to present this point of view. But there are also those who do very well in the industry, mentally. I would strongly suggest you read the writings of Asia Carrera, who is a retired porn star. I believe she will give you a very different point of view.

5) No. I don't agree that porn stars are better actors than hollywood actors. Some are good, some are bad. Just like Hollywood. I find your depiction of actors as "professional liars" to be very condescending and unwarranted. Acting is not the same as lying.

6) Perhaps true. But ... really ... reaching back to 1997, which is 16 years ago??? Frankly, I'm amazed that the number isn't higher, given what was known back then.

7) The statistics for Herpes in the general population are quite high (you can find them yourself), although not quite as high as this. But Herpes is, for most people, very benign. But yes, Herpes is very much a risk of being a porn star, and also of being a sex worker of any kind ... or one of their customers.

8) Every one of those suicides is a tragedy. But here are some statistics that put this number into perspective.

9) As with the previous point, I think this page provides a bit of context.

10) This is, indeed, an amazingly low number.

11) Holy cow, in an industry that practices widespread unprotected sex, less than 10% of porn stars suffer from STDs. That's truly an impressively low number. They must be doing something right.

Sorry for such a long rebuttal, but it has been a long-time pet peeve of mine when people stereotype people in the porn industry. I find it demeaning for them to do so, and I don't mind speaking out about it.

For those who want a different view on the porn industry, see this study. There are many more like it. Porn stars have as many positive traits as negative ones, just like people in any other industry.

PS: I think this thread should be moved from "News" to "Talk is Cheap".

Nice rebuttal, gherk.  I agree with you, but didn't feel like putting in the effort.

The op's post is tremdously flawed arguement. It just tries too hard, using very sketchy "facts" and LOTS of opinion skewed to give the appearance of a reasoned argument.  Only a child with no critical-reading skills would be convinced.

I also hate it when people use the line, "noone grows up wanting to be a WG or pornstar" as an arguement that it must be bad and should therefore be made illegal. Noone grows up hoping to work at McDonald's either, or in a billion other fields - yet these jobs provide a service to society, a paycheck to the worker, and noone believes they should be banned.  Being unfun, unrewarding, demeaning, or otherwise are not traits to define whether a job should or should not be made illegal or not.

I wonder what the OP's point is, actually.

Hi gherk
To compare his figure and that provided in your link, we should also know how many pornstars there are (approximately). According to that link you provided, roughly 10 people in 100,000 kill themselves.  If there are 100,000 pornstars, then that figure of 26 is not too high.  If the number of porn stars killing themselves is low (comparatively), it could be argued that they are less inclined to commit suicide. However, if the figure is high, it would be unfair to blame the porn industry for that. Without having access to the psychological profile of the 26 porn stars who committed suicide, we don't know whether they had suicidal thoughts prior to joining the industry.  The same argument can be applied to the drug overdose figure. Does the industry attract people who are already addicts? If it does, then the figure is expected to be much higher.
