HK Property Prices

Hi Bros,

Just wanted to ask opinions on the Hong Kong Property prices. Do you guys think with the New Government tactics that the property prices will go down? Or will it continue rising? I really want to buy a flat but think the prices are way too high.

Your comments are much appreciated.

What size apartment you looking for? 600-800 sq ft? Urban property prices are extremelly high such as TST and Kowloon side apartments.

You may select some non-urban far away from city side or N.T apartment are less costly, but the transportation is not as easy if you need to travel a long distance to work.

Or choose older building with over 20 yrs or more may can be less expensive than the newly built ones,

Also the newly built ones are not very useful in terms of placing furniture as they can be diamond shaped living room and the usable sq ft and the actral advertised sq ft is different

Yes, but that thread is over 2 years old now. A lot could have changed between then and now.

Well, the Chinese economy is starting to slow down, and the Hong Kong economy is heavily dependant on the Chinese economy (Housing prices starting come down already in Mainland).

Maybe wait until the market cycle comes around again, my personal opinion, I do think Hong Kong real estate is on a bubble and won't be long until it re-corrects itself.
