Sorry it will never happen in the near future because in Chinese society prostitution is look down. The communist also didn't like prostitution and stamp it out completely. For example, Shanghai was once filled with prostitutes and it was completed wiped out when the commies took over.

Well, you could say in HK it's legal under certain and strick conditions. In HK it was once under British laws and one of the reason it's legal in HK.

I think eventually it will be legalised.

Though in such a case there are incentives to work outside the legal framework.

Namely as the CCP for all their sins are pragmatic and quite savvy.

Back in thr 80s, this shit ain't working the leadership thought, and let other Chinese have a piece of the pie.

Back in the 70s, Beijing y'know is kind of dry. Maybe we should do something about it.

In that it is not something they can get rid of, even in Sweden with horrendous WG laws (where you are considered a sex offender if you pay for it though sweden is a horrible matriarchal society). Hell even in Islamic nations I've visited, I get propositions.....

Life is short very...

I have nothing against restricting prostitution, like they do in Nevada but it should be legalized. Theres nothing wrong with prostitution, it s the oldest proffesion in the world, and I mean, couldn't it be better regulated if the government made it legal?

i honestly doubt the government of china will ever legalize prostitution. just no way. too socially incorrect. America would SMASH China to bits for it.

how about full recognition of Macau as sex capital of china.  As in full promoting it & let it all go wild there. Make it more organized as a legit business. Let it be the sin part of china even more openly....gambling, sex, parties, etc.

Actually, this woman shows up at the meetings, and she's been suggesting to legalizr prostitution for years already.

I also think it's impossible for China to legalize it, because they are seeking for international recognition. Most countries already hate China, so imagine they officially become a whores' country, they would be humiliated. Then, you would have sexual tourism developing... who wants that in China ?

I disagree.  It when shit gets out of control then it gets ugly.  When things like underage prositution, forced sex trade, violence, etc happens, it get under world scrutiny.  Look at europe with their red light district.  If its well regulated, its not as bad as people think.

Same as here in Thailand; can't be legalised as the politicians / army / police etc make far too much money from it by being illegal in that. Same as drugs.

You are thinking like a modern man. Some countries are opened to regulated prostitution, and I consider them as quite advanced societies. Most largest countries in Europe are more conservative and wouldn't do it.

I do agree with what you say, it's uglier when as underground business. But we are talking about China, they want to be the most powerful country in the world, not the most peaceful...

From Chinese's government point of vue, they are not responsible for that underground business. They are even fighting against it, with the crack downs, humilating girls and customers, sentencing pimps to death.

I think from their POV, there's nothing shameful with the current situation, they should be even proud to show to the world they are the men who take care of the situation. Bloodbath and killings is not shameful in China, 'they deserve it'. But selling our girls as whore, it's the worst humiliation ever, no more dignity, losing face.

not arguing against you.  A clear apparent of hypocrisy when the govt are the biggest pimps of all. They can censor or show their aggression with harsh punishment, its obvious the china govt is running it like a dictorship....judge, jury & executioner.  They are biggest gamblers, users of WG, fanciest cars, houses...etc..../rant....guess why you said china is hated...i personally just dislike the govt but love the country.
