How to eliminate the pink from your 141 pics
So you've just gone and punted at a 141 and the gal has been nice enough to allow you to take pics or you've actually paid out some money to get her to allow you to take photos and post them on this site... most of the time unless you have a good cam with a good flash your pics are gonna come out all pink.
So here's a quick guide to get you started on your path, what you'll need is a photo editor that has a tool to adjust the hue/saturation of the photos and can do this selectively on different color channels, my example is using Photoshop but its possible to find other programs to do this.
So, for the following steps refer to the pictures below:
Step 1:
Open up your picture in Photoshop, go to Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation
Step 2:
Change the color channel from Master to Red.
Step 3:
Now its time to make adjustments on the Hue, Saturation and Lightness.
The Hue you wont need to touch so much but I find its usually better to lower it.
The Saturation of the Red channel needs to be reduced, the lower it is the less reds there will be in the image, but you don't want to go too low as natural skin tone and other objects in the room still has some red in it.
The Lightness can be increased to brighten up the picture especially in the areas that were originally effected by the reds.
Step 4:
Adjusting the color selection range for your changes is perhaps the most critical step, most 141 pictures are not just red and includes purples and pinks too, if you don't make the color selection range larger then the adjustments you make will bee to localized to the red spectrum, I usually widen the color range to encompass the whole of the purple --> pink ---> to red color spectrum, ie from the end of the blues to the yellow for my color selection.
You'll need to play around with Steps 3 and 4 a bit to get the best result, below is also an example of a quick adjustment and the settings that I did for a picture that was taken by JackTheBat from his report
