I wonder why more of my fellow punters don't do the bar-scene as your primary WG-hunting-grounds?  Given you get to drink, chat, and dance with the hotties before making a commitment.

Is the reason one of the following?

A) Ummm, talk with the girls first?? WTF?  Why? I pay them to shut the fuck up!!  

B) Dance?  Not since junior-high!  What are you, gay?

C) Let me see, you buy them expensive drinks all nite, work on being charming and smooth, and then STILL pay more to fuck them?  Are you an idiot?  

D) Are you crazy!?  If I am spotted there my dick will be in a zip-lock bag on ice waiting for re-attachment!  Too public!

E) Er, I just want to fuck!  Why bother with the foreplay?  

I think this covers most reasons a monger may choose to skip this scene.

Me?  Well, I love it!  Wan Chai is paradise.

id have to go w/ C and E. drinks are ridiculously overpriced, and why spend time chasing tail, when you know you're going to have to shell out money for her to give it up? isnt the thrill of the chase being that she'll give it up for free?

simply because i dont have the time. my trips to HK are short, and i try to maximize the time for business, leisure and sex.

I think the WC bar scene is usually frequented by expats who don't know too many ppl in HK and are in for a good "night out", rather than the local guy who can get recognized by a zillion relatives/friends/SO's friends and in just looking for a fuck...

If we get recognise, there's no harm as we are there to drink and socialise.

Not sure if you guys notice, Chinese like us do not fancy Monkey girls; dark skin, flat nose and smelly odor.
The gwai lou however have different taste.
So, no Wan Chai bar for me because I don't want to be seen with a monkey.

I find the word offensive. Is it a common local slang or something directly imported from the local lingo? Even so, I think most sensible people would still find it offensive so please dont use it.

Off-topic: I tried Beverly H for the first time yesterday. Staff is great. I could bring in drinks and no questions asked - they even helped take off the lids. The room size is quite spacious for a love motel (i had rm 19), although there's a bit of a step up from the bedroom to the bathroom. The room is much better than ming court (although Ming has a ceiling mirror), I could get a 3-hr session for the same price as a 2-hr session at Ming - 280 dollars. Two hour session is 220 dollars. I didn't spot any doms, even though i bring my own.

Actually I think you are wrong. If I wanted to have discretion in looking for a shag, wanchai is the better place for it. If anyone I know sees me in a Wanchai bar, then that person is mutually just as guilty as I am and would not tell anyone else because of the 'code'. I know many people who agree with me. It is safer to fool around in the wanchai bars than it is at LKF or TST where the chances of being spotted by others are so high.

Plus how can anyone prove I was in those bars to pick up women unless they spent hours watching me? I could be in the bars enjoying the music of the live bands, drinking with buds, or enjoying a nice Thai meal in Escape - similar activities I do in LKF...

I never tried Beverly Hotel before but I do like that the hotel has two access points. From the hotel the girl and you can leave the premises via two separate lifts that exit the building at two different lobbies.

I do wonder if boombastic is just shit-stirring, as I have never heard any local refer to a darker person as a monkey. Sure, they'll comment about dark skin etc., but never the term monkey.

Now, I hope our white bros don't take offence, but I have heard a small minority of white guys in HK refer to Asians as monkeys, though they were total assholes anyway and not representative of white guys in general.

I went there for the 1st times in ages on Saturday!

I went to all the usuals... Neptune II was ram packed! I got into the 'could not be arsed' mood - ended up in the white stag watching the football!

So I made up for it on Sunday and ended up in a pretty good bar I have never been in before called the wanch! One of the reasons I hardly go anymore now is it is quite a journey for me now as I live quite far out! Although on Sunday I tried to pop in Sun Kai Mansion but it was too late!

I prefer Wan Chai myself.

Main reason is to be able to socialise, have a drink, a bit of fun.

Also, the choice is overwhelming. Maybe even too much!  And you can do a bit of a bar crawl and can hangout with your mates at the same time.

I find no two nights are the same.  Some nights turn out memorable.  Others a bit crap, but the variety  is great.

Downside it is does have a knack of emptying your wallet.
