Ill probably use a translator on my smartphone hile I am visiting Hong Kong. Which language should I use?
Chinese
Traditional Chinese or
Simplified chinese?
It depends on what you are going to use it for. If you are in HK and Taiwan then it's Traditional. If you are going into mainland China then it's Simplified. In my opinion, if you are going only to HK you don't need a translator. Almost everything is in both English and Chinese. A great majority of the people speak English.
On the other hand, if you are going to use it to communicate with the working girls in HK, because majority of them are from the North, all of them understand Simplified. For Traditional they should have studied it but will be weak.
My local friend in HK once told me if a Northern Chinese working girl can speak Cantonese and read Traditional, then she been in the South for a long time. Then there is a strong possibility she has been working for a while in the South and been fucked a lot. Girls usually start at 17 or 18 working. OTH, One girl claimed she learned Cantonese in the factory before becoming a working girl.
edit: changed "study" to "studied"
