There are a few paid guys around S. China for our hobby. The problem is, you are a newbie and I would not recommend you to my friend who is a paid guide.  Remember it's legal in HK and illegal in China. They are two completely different places. Then you add Macau which is another different place. It would be nice if we or I know something more about you. Can you write some reports about you activities ?  I would guess it would be placed in the International section.

I have another friend who use too show people around for free in China. Then he started meeting a few weirdos. Some started to get into too much trouble and he had to bail them out. There was no gratitude or appreciation.

First thing I'd recommend is that you do read up more of the postings here. Prostitution per se is NOT illegal in Hong Kong, English is quite widely spoken here, streets, building names and a lot of signs do have english on them, the WG/pimps ARE OK friendly, and thus armed with information gleaned from our pages, you SHOULD be able to make out alright.

Now as Weelock mentions above, China mainland is a totally different ball of wax and an unsuspecting casual tourist/monger could easily be 'eaten-up alive' - thus the existence of a lot of guides there. But I've not heard of any "monger hand-holding" agents in Hong Kong - except those who are going to instead be actually instrumental in "eating you up alive!"  That or else you can go on these organized regular tour packages and be berated by our own bus aunties into buying schlock!

So you are back to doing your own RX here, and gritting up and going out there to do your thing!

I was thinking...I wonder if there is an Android or iphone app that can translate into Chinese?

I just have a fear of walking up to one of these places and stumbling across a door with a sign on it  written in chinese  and with a couple of numbers on it too.
Me then knocking on the door and trying to communicate what it is I want etc and maybe using some sign language to emphasize things a bit. (Sort of like sexual charades)  and then having someone start yelling at me  because for all I know the sign might say ( in Chinese) " Please dont disturb my wife I will be back at 3.00 oclock" lol

Something similar happend to me in the Phillipines. I was there working with 3 other guys. We were having some trouble finding a taxi. Anyway a  mini bus thing turned up and 4 people got out with their luggage and walked into a Hotel. The 4 of us jumped in thinking it was a taxi van or a courtesy bus from the hotel and told the driver where we wanted to go. He talked to us in  his language and we had no idea what he was saying but thrust a couple of hundred pesos into his hand and again told him where we wanted to go. Off we went , we were chatting and then the van came to s stop and the driver got out and ran away.  We were like. wtf? All of a sudden we were surrounded by police and shitting ourselves. We were told to get out and then questioned as to why we tried to kidnap the driver.  Luckily one of the policemen spoke good english. We explained what happened and he told the driver and then everyone started to laugh. The ploice told us to pay them so that we could be escorted to our destination because the driver was in a hurry.
It turned out that he had dropped off some family members at a hotel  who were to fly out the following day and he had a 4 hour drive to get home.. He wasnt a taxi at all..

So it is the memory of this that causes me to be a little cautious..lol

Bro, that story is hilarious!  Odd he didn't speak some english in the Philippines, though - a very common language there.

Anyway, HK is the easiest place in the world to monger.  It is legal, safe, common, and relatively cheap.  Use the 141 DB database and google-maps to located the address and your done - no worries.  Almost all the WG's in a building will actually have a "141" sign on their door - an obvious clue.  

Don't worry about it.  Just be smart about it all, and step up.

After thinking about it, it is technically legal in Hong Kong. Most of the times, it is a "grey area" in HK but you don't really have to worry.  If you do your homework, I don't believe you need a guide.  Almost everything is in both English and Chinese.

Please do some reading and use the search function for information.

Negative or Cons:

Overall, expensive in HK like for hotels.
Big Big Caucasians tend to get rejected often by girl.  It often depends on the girl.
It is worst in China for rejections...

If you get the google translate app or one of the many chinese translation apps for the iphone or android you can show the girl the chiense text of what you want, instead of trying to speak it out or try to use the translation of the software.

hi plonkey, i'm about yr height and while it's a bit of a challenge, HK is a very international place and i find the WGs, while they may say "hoh kong AH!" nonstop for a minute or two and of course measure their head-height against (wow, there's a difference, how fascinating, HOH KONG AH!!!), if u just smile and laugh it off, everything calms down fairly quickly. if yr a friendly fun fellow, they'll appreciate you...and your cash.

HK is not like the Philippines. it's more urban, congested, and expensive. dunno the purpose of yr trip: if yr on a s-week odyssey to shag as many gals as possible, Thailand might be an option (more like Phils: less law and order, more space, more chaos). if yr here on biz and want to check out the scene, don't worry. in general, the 141 hallways are in older buildings, often pink-lit, and gals have signs that say "please wait" in English, plus a lot of handwritten Chinese characters, usually on neon-green paper. u may see other Chinese bros, they're there for the same reason and i find it's that atmosphere of "let's ignore each other" when u do see other guys around. it's all civilized, the only prob u might find is when u ring the bell and...a different gal from the DB opens it.

sometimes, it may be the SAME gal, but the photoshopping is so extreme u won't recognize her. in any case, when u meet the gal, and she's inviting u in, u gotta make that classic instant-decision: OK/not-OK? sometimes, unless something about her is really putting u off, it's best to just go with the punt. but that's not a decision i can make for u.

as for the language-barrier, while it is sometimes a prob, it's often about two-inches high. sign-language, simple English, a device u can write numbers on (cheap calculator works fine), her webpage in English pre-loaded on yr iPhone, all help. price and services shd be established beforehand, use the website as yr guide. a "basic package" means just strip off yr kit and let her take charge. most gals have a routine. if u read enough reports, you'll soon figure it out...

moving up the chain, u have the hotel gals in HK. u can spend HK$1700 or more...although if time and budgetallow, read some Macau sauna reports, head on down to Shun Tak terminal and get a package. u can prebook the gal from a foto or video. or, just book a return-ferry trip, show up and the sauna and check out the lineups. it'll be an experience! someone shd be able to communicate in the high-end saunas, just speak clearly, check the menu, and don't be afraid to ask for what u want, they've heard it all before!

I am new here and have been reading as much as I can and I am in the same dilemma as you; unable to speak or read the local language. The idea of a local guide is quite tempting.

I will share my own story about not understanding language and the local iconography:

Whilst in Germany I had the chance to visit an establishment in Frankfurt and was blown away by the variety and services offered. These were multi-level establishments with each level and wing housing particular types of goods. I was told to wonder about and pick whichever room matches my criteria. I spied one particular specimen and decided I will go for that, unfortunately I did not speak Polish nor German. On the door was a sign in German and a picture of a white feather which I noted with some curiosity. Once the event began I was quite pleased but than it suddenly stopped. Out of a bag was pulled a strapped on "device" and it was donned by the provider. I freaked out and just about ran out of the room but managed to control myself and did the best I could using signs to say I did not want that. It was put away and the session continued.

Afterwards a friend of mine which introduced me to the place looked at me like I was crazy as I exited the room. He told me what the little sign read (something like special reverse service) and the white feather was a signed for pansies that liked to take it from the provider.

I am taking an extensive vacation to Asia (I am of Asian heritage) in a few months and hope I will not run into another situation like that. Right now I am most weary of Thailand as the information is harder to come by and I do know that certain types of people are quite popular there.

Spent a little time in The Philipines 12 or so years ago but didnt get the chance to monger much at all. Working  on a construction site about 2 or 3 hours out of Manila and at the time we were pretty much confined to site or hotel with our own security personnel because the site manager was in dispute with the local organised crime boss who apparently just happened to be the Mayor as well.. ??

i'm no expert on the HG scene but TST is monger-central. thing with hotels is u likely will have to wait, and may have a B&S (bait-and-switch)--these can sometimes work out fine. however, with limited time, don't expect tobag more than one HG. if u want multiple experiences u need to hit the walkups.

early afternoon is a great time tho, worst times are lunchtime and when guys get off work. if yr willing to try a little experimentation, search the DB for walkup joints with a number of gals listed. these hallways will have a number of flats, and u can just ring the buzzer of any doors that don't have "please wait" on the sign (the opposite is often a URL like "sex141.com," but it's pretty clear whether she's free or not. if u ring the doorbell, chances are it'll open--then u gotta make the call. it can be intimidating to turn down a gal in person (esp if she's PULLING u inside), but it is yr time and money, just smile and be polite about it. this isn't the easiest thing to do, but early afternoon on a weekday, u shd have several choices in the walkups.

or skip all that, find a place with a few WGs and just wander. but when ringing doorbells, be prepared IN ADVANCE for an excuse in case u really don't want what's behind Door #2. one ruse: grab yr phone, look at the "caller number," get a look of horror, "answer" and say "yes boss! yes, i'm on my way!" and start walking away covering the mouthpiece and mouthing "sorry, sorry" to the gal. this is called "saving face," and is a good practice. however, if u pull it, vacate the hallway--don't wait until she shuts the door and then ring the neighbor's bell. if yr brazen enough, just say "oh sorry" and ring the neighbor's bell anyway! yeah it sounds anarchic but yr here for adventure, right? oh and you'll be surprised how small the rooms are, but what the heck, there's enough room for fun!

Good luck on your trip over here. It is a bit daunting at first however it is not difficult. I do not speak a word of Chinese.

Walkups are easy; find a building with lots of girls in it, start knocking on doors until you find what you like and she accepts you. It is very clear in a building who is operating as a walkup girl flat and what might be someones apartment. The WG apts have signs on them (mixture of english and chinese - busy, free, good service etc.) Language is not required, you knocked on the door, it is pretty clear what you are after.

I would suggest trying some hotel girls; search the DB for the area you are in TST, WC, etc. and check the links for the girls, take note of the their phone numbers. when looking through the DB later you will recognize the number. There are some good agents out there that offer good service, good girls and do not (generally stuff you around). I do have an agent I use regularly in WC that responds to my texts but he knows my number.
HG are also good as you can pre-book; you: I want to book ABC for 1pm today. I generally call at about 10:30 and book sessions at 1p or 1:30pm in the afternoon.(my afternoon exercise session with a personal trainer )
I have had some amusing conversations on the phone with agents but if I cannot make headway just choose another agent.
