Helen Thomas forced to retire over Israel comments

I'm a big fan of White House correspondent Helen Thomas and regularly read her columns because she has the balls to speak her mind. Guess no one can speak up against Israel. I am not anti semitic but pissed off by what Israel is doing in occupied Gaza.

Following is a news report from the Huffington Post:

"Helen Thomas, the 89-year-old veteran White House correspondent, will retire effective immediately in the wake of her offensive comments on Israel.

"Helen Thomas announced Monday that she is retiring, effective immediately," a Hearst Newspapers statement said. "Her decision came after her controversial comments about Israel and the Palestinians were captured on videotape and widely disseminated on the Internet."

Thomas, who transitioned from reporter to columnist in 2000 but kept her front-row seat at White House briefings, had come under fire for her statement that Israel should "get the hell out of Palestine" and that Jews in Israeli should return to Germany, Poland, or the US."

Whether you agree or disagree with her position - which she is free to take, it shows that when you are in public office you have to be very careful about what you say and who you say it to.

She wasn't forced to resign, she stepped down out of shame. She's pretty senile if she thinks all the Jews should go back to the lands where the Holocaust took place, that's a scar that won't heal for a while. Genocide is not a joke.

That being said, Israel has crossed the line many times in its struggle in the Middle East, not unprovoked of course. Too much bad blood going around for any easy fix.

Israel is no longer what it used to be. They are declaring war on the entire Muslim race and trying to kill as many as possible. This is also Genocide. In 1972 when Muslim terrorists murdered Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics, the Israelis had ordered hit man style executions of the people in charge of masterminding the murders. Today, they have no whims about carpet bombing the Muslims and have recently murdered over a thousand civilians including a lot of children. This is pathetic. Who is the terrorist now?
