I've always wondered why Rugby is popular in HK.  Is it because HK use to be an English colony.  It's not a very popular sport.

for sure the british influence has made rugby popular in Hong Kong. but don't underestimate the popularity in other countries such as Argentina or France.
Very unlikely to get a ticket for that match though... 40K tickets will be snapped up in a few mins..

From the sounds of it, probably can make a quick buck reselling those tickets.  Should grab a few.

Yeah.. I'm hoping to get some sort of tour package through http://www.weloverugby.com/tour.php?id=1211

Interestingly "Hong Kong Rugby Union conditions state that a flight must be included in all official travel packages", but the flight can be from anywhere.. Kinda pricy just for a game of rugby. Guess I will have to find some other activities in HK to justify the trip!

Tickets are priced at HK$1,250, HK$1,000 and HK$880. Tickets will not be on sale via the Internet to supporters outside of Hong Kong
tickets to go on sale in HK some time in August...

Because Rugby isn't a game for absolute pussies like American football where they are so wussy they have to wear armour, or football where they so much as get a tap then go down screaming

While rugby rarely stops, raking (i.e. using your boots to rip the skin off another bloke's back) is completely fine.

Grabbing them and breaking their arms and legs is also fine. I remember a match in the UK where the ref didn't stop the game when a guy's brains were leaking out.

Life is short very...
