Man stabs 28 children at kindergarten in China

Did you hear about this nut stabbing 28 kids and 3 adults with a knife in China.

What is the deal with all these crazy Chinese people going on a killing spree?

Possibly too many little emperors one child policy means that the children think they are emperor of the universe and thus become snotty selfish and think they are the centre of the universe thereby interfering with the job of the teacher.

With one billion people, eventually things will happen.
Such things are a common worldwide.   I heard he was an unemployed insurance salesperson who recently got dumped by some rich family.

to go on a killing spree with little kids? I'm surprised they didn't torture that guy before killing him.

It's pretty hard to understand 'crazy,' but this is really far off the deep end.  Targeting toddlers?  What kind of psychosis does that?  Everywhere else in the world the crazy dude just goes to the local shopping mall and wigs out.  In the U.S. we've had high school shootings, but they've been by anti-social teenagers from that school.  We've had college shootings for the same reason and then a couple of shootings that were outsiders just looking for a headline, but a kindergarten?  That's just beyond evil.

I didn't do it.  Really I didn't.

People who have mental diseases dont think like we do. To them they might not see it as wrong or right.

No normal person would ever think about committing such an act.

where the hell was all the teacher in this?

I am so tired of the so called "mental diseases", what happened to crazy? I mean there have to be some errors during evolution, right? If we were animals we probably just killed the fuck before it hurt anyone else.

It's weird though... all of the chinese murders seem to be related to knifes though. Remember the bus stabbing in canada?

Sadly there have now been several of these. Hard to believe the reports in the media
aren't giving people ideas, but the basic cause is probably the alienation that a society
that makes citizens feel powerless and helpless generates.

Would understand it better if they went postal and targeted the authorities, but taking
it out on innocent kids is beyond sad.

Knives are a lot easier to come by in China (and Canada)
than guns, unlike in the gun-happy USofA.

China kindergarten massacre seen as symptom of progress

May 14, 2010

Survivor ... a child injured in the Hanzhong killings leaves intensive care with a paper crane, signifying recovery from injury.
BEIJING: The latest deadly school rampage shows China is paying the price for focusing on economic growth for decades while ignoring mental health problems linked to the nation's rapid social change, experts say.

In the eighth assault on children in 10 weeks, Wu Huanmin, 48, a disgruntled landlord in dispute with the school, took a kitchen cleaver to a kindergarten in Hanzhong, central China - and killed seven children, some as young as three, and two adults.

For decades China had been relatively free of the multiple killings by deranged assailants that make headlines in the West. Cautioning the causes of remained unclear, experts said even as economic reforms had lifted millions from poverty in China, insufficient attention had been paid to psychological health.

''We have focused on economic progress but have most certainly lost sight of psychological improvements,'' said Ma Ai, a criminal psychologist at the China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing. ''This is because the changes of the past 30 years have been too fast.''

Seventeen people, mostly young children, have died in recent attacks and more than 50 children have been hurt. Two attackers, including the man who carried out Wednesday's assault, committed suicide and another was executed.

Why children were targeted is unclear but Dr Ma said the attackers might seek to shock the public in copycat attacks as revenge against a more complicated society that they felt had wronged them.

''The perpetrators have contracted a 'social psychological infectious disease' that shows itself in a desire to take revenge on society,'' said Zhou Xiaozheng of Renmin University, Beijing. ''They pick children as targets because they are the weakest and most vulnerable.''

Despite rising living standards and greater freedoms, Chinese today face new pressures unknown 30 years ago when the country began opening again to the world - particularly the struggle to keep up in a dog-eat-dog capitalist landscape.

A mental health expert at Tongji University, Shanghai, Michael Phillips, said many doctors outside big cities ''don't know anything about mental illness'' and a social stigma prevented many sufferers from seeking treatment. In a study last year Dr Phillips found 173 million Chinese suffered mental problems ranging from schizophrenia to alcohol abuse, and that 91 per cent had never been treated.

im with you on this one boss.  its hard to justify killing these psychos off before they crack, but if there was a way to figure out which ones are a threat to other people...we should take them off the streets before they wreck havoc.
