#1 Post at 18-4-2010 08:43  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L Chatroom When I used to monger back in the UK there was a site that I used to visit, sorry but I can't remember it now but that's not important. It was nowhere near as good as this as there were far less members and hence far less reviews although I do seem to remember it had a reasonable DB of ad's for WG's. Anyway, one thing that it did have was a chatroom for members to go into and talk with other members in real time which was quite good. Has this ever been considered for this site and discounted for whatever reasons. I don't think the room would work if it was open to all as you would end up with a load of pissed up idiots trying to be wise asses and basically wasting real members time, however if it had a RA of 20 or even 30, do you think it would work? Keep on mongering....

#2 Post at 18-4-2010 08:48  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L I think this is a good idea.  sometimes you have a quick question that you want to ask, and posting in Q&A might not yield a response as quickly as you need. Even though i am not there yet, i do agree with adding a RA level.

I would think it would only work with a pretty high RA (just look at how much trouble the Mod's have keeping this forum under control!). In general to reach the higher RA's you have some idea of what you are doing, so how many 'urgent' questions would you really have? Seems like a lot of work for little return. But hey, if someone wants to set it up... I should mention that I have never used chatrooms, so maybe I just don't know what I'm missing.

#4 Post at 18-4-2010 12:20  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L Those are some good points lister01, it would need an RA of at least 30 if it was to be set up and the room shouldn't be used really as a destination for mongering questions, they should still go to the Q&A section. It should only be used just for chat. If there's a problem there would always be a history of it and that could be reported up to a moderator and if it's upheld, bounce the person out of the room and ban them for a time. Depending on the crime RA could then be adjusted downwards for the culprit. I am no expert on these types of rooms, have only really used them back in England but I do believe that when they are set up you can habe a BOT moderator in the room. That BOT is coded to look for certain words, racism, bad language posting of mobile numbers and the like. Keep on mongering....

Largely to do with critical mass and a culture of willingness to share. Some hot Chat topics go to two or more pages within a day!
