The lineup of taxis when you exit Changping/DG train station?

You know, when you take the train and get off at Dongguan (i.e. Changping), about 50metres from the exit, there's a taxi area where they all line up.

Every time I get there, the cab drivers mob me, but something doesn't feel right about those guys, even though they're at the official taxi lineup area.
I usually walk out to the main road and hail a cab - because they seem a lot more "normal" (I can't explain why)

Does anyone know is there something fishy or wrong about those taxis waiting in the official taxi line??

Not too sure about HK, but ived dealt with the "black cabs" in beijing.  I've heard horror stories from them so i keep walking.

In HK ive got a taxi from the taxi line in Jordan (on a side street).  no wrong doing so far.

My take is I would prefer these official taxis rather than get into a private cab tout when you walk out the door  at the train entrance.  I never got round to knowing why some were green and some were yellow. Anyone?

Without exception, always take a taxi from the official line.  For the most part, they have been checked to make sure they actually have a permit and such.  The ones mobbing you int the station are either black cabs (not really a taxi at all) or non-licensed drivers using someone's taxi to try to make money.  Either way, unsafe.  Where there is an official taxi line, go to the official line.

There is also a doubt that the black cabs are unlikely to have the proper motor insurance.
