I get asked this question from my English mates about this all the time. Why don't we see more of this?

I think it is getting more common especially in Western Europe. However, this is still a pretty uncommon site in Asia. Why are people so curious about this?

What do you guys think?

The Chinese women that I've dated have said it's because of the guys' upbringing and expectations.  I have no idea if that's true, but the girls said that your average joe from China was a much tougher relationship for them (or perhaps a less liberal and supportive relationship) than most western raised guys.  Now that paints a pretty broad stereotype, and I'm just reporting here not agreeing.

Also keep in mind that this opinion came from girls that I dated in the States, so it could be a biased sample to begin with: i.e. it was a group of girls that had already voted with their feet to emigrate to the U.S. and therefore they were already of the opinion that there was something "better" there or more to their liking.

It seems to be gaining in popularity here in the States nowadays (with Asian guys and white women), but it's still not nearly as common as Asian women with white guys.  My guess is that it all goes back to how women of any nationality wants to feel safe and protected by her man.  And unfortunately height is recognized as being a contributor to one's ability to provide security...so Asians who tend to be shorter in height often get overlooked...

Either that or they've subscribed to the stereotype that we Asians pack tiny pistols.

it's simple.  i've dated many hot english women because to them most chinese men look the same.   It makes it easier to approach them, and then its just all about my attitude and personality.  with hot asian girls, its more about what car i drive, how much i make or how goodlooking i am.  my ratio of english girls to asian girls i've dated would be like 4:1

Its simple, Chinese by their parents have certain expectations, ie study while helping out with the parents at weekends.

So while the native white guys / girls go out to the pub or clubbing at the weekend they are in studying or working. My dad and my uncles and most of the Chinese community had twisted values 70-90% of them worked in hot food in their youth. They saw nothing wrong with studying all day then working all night.

In Manchester Chinese night was Tuesdays, at Picaddily 21s, chinese men & women spend all their free time studying and or working, hence they are just not as availiable as previously. The natives spend their time developing social skills and thus are more able to approach women of any nationality.

Thus my theory is they are an awful lot less visible until university.

I am chinese and dated only western woman my whole life. I have a western SO, we have 2 kids together. My dad didn't accepted her at first, i told him to accept her or he will never see his grand kids. I think chinese people worried to much about what other think of them and don't like to be look down on. Chinese people is rude, when i go to china town or ant where with lots chinese people. I can see every one look at us and talk amounts themselves. The SO feel uncomfortable about that. Yes there is more chinese girls with white guys.......... not sure why not too many chinese guys with white girls.

I had the same problem with my parents..( When i was dating white girls..) My dad actually chased me out of the house with a broom when i tried to take my girlfriend to my room..

White chicks are nothing short of awesome, they are more laid back and less clingy compared to Asian chicks in my experience.

I totally agree about hot Asians being very materialistic. It especially annoying when they expect certain things such as paying for dinner as if you are a credit card without a hint of gratitude!! As for Asians looking the same, that's funny but true as well. Number of times people come up and said aren't Joe Blog, and you say NO!

english girls are ok but i dont find them as feminine! never really been too attracted to them! i quite like german girls though.

tell you what though! there seems to be alot of chinese guys in london dating polish girls! know of 2 myself who have married one! polish girls aint bad either!

I've dated American girls in my younger years, it's a bit strange and a bit different from Asian girls because of how people view you in public, even in NYC where it is supposed to be the melting pot of the world.  I am more into Asian women, it is my preference.  No offense to any White people here but I have irks about White women, too hairy... when I am giving a catbath to my lady, I want to make sure her skin is less rough than my tongue.  Whenever I go into a White person's home, there is a weird stench, it's almost gamey...  in Cantonese it would be called something like GNOT GNOT DAY but not in a piss type of way.  I bet when White people enter my home, it smells odd to them too.  I think my SO and I had so much in common that there was no way I was going to marry another person, our houses probably smelled the same because I never smelled anything odd about her house when I went.  Till this day, whenever we visit our non-Asian friends' houses, we still agree that there is a very distinct smell that we simply don't like.  What's weirder is that we never smell it at our Viet, Korean, Japanese or even East Asian's houses, well except Phillipinos,  there is a smell too, but it's not a bad smell like American households.  Anyone else feel this?

When I first visited Asia as a student in Taiwan back in the late 70's, it was very rare for any of my white classmates to date the local guys. In fact, it was then well known among the white guys that the white chicks were an easy touch because they weren't getting laid while we were all fucking Taiwanese girls.

Now, after 30years, I'm back in Taiwan, and it's not at all unusual to see young attractive white girls with local guys. The reason for this is twofold:

1) The Taiwanese, male and female - and this is true of all Asians - are a lot better looking, taller, healthier, and stylish than they were 30 years ago. I'm 6'4" and I see lots of guys over here as tall as me. Some of these Taiwanese guys are quite handsome by anyone's standards.

2) Attitudes in the West have changed drastically viv-a-vis Asia and Asian men. Asia used to be a continent of economic basket cases. Now Asia has become a powerful and important part of the world economy. This change in status has also influenced how Asian people are seen.

Also, Westerners are more familiar with Asian people now. It used to be that Anglo women, at least, thought Asian guys not very masculine. Now those stereotypes no longer hold.

Women, btw, are all alike. I don't understand how anyone with any experience with women would think differently. Whatever physical differences exist are just surface phenomena - there's no more difference between Asian wmen and Western women than there is between blonds and brunets. Tho I realize many people have problems seeing beyond the surface of things.

According to my "other half", generally speaking she doesn't like the outlook of Chinese man even do very seldomly she saw some a bit better. Also local Chinese or HKese (at least those not educated oversea) have some habits that are consider very rude for western lady, so it may be difficult for them to fall for a local guy.

Speaking of Karen Mok, I just came across the most incredible oldie song sang by her.  The younger guys won't know it but those of us in our 30s and 40s will love it.
