Not another clamp down...

Just heard that the Police and Immigration have been around the YauMaTei, TsimShaTsui & MongKok areas clamping down on WGs and their pimps for the last few days. Hope no one here has become a casuality! As far I know, 11 people were arrested....but non were punters thank god

That explains all the cop cars recently sitting on the side of the roads

I did see a bust in a sauna before, there were cops and a bunch of bystanders..... but those bystanders were all cops in normal clothing, its sorta funny to see/know that there are alot of cops running around in disguise, making you feel safe...... on the other hand.... you might think you were just giving a friendly smile to a 'backpacker' when you were hopping off into a neon-lit staircase

Personally thinking, if this is the case, then Sauna's are potentially unsafe too as they are an establishemnt with more than one girl under one roof offering sexual services for money !!

Stay clear of them for now I guess !!

Even if there's a raid, I don't think they're targetting the punters - at least as far as I know. Never read of punters being arrested - just those working in the trade.

SOP if Caught

Tried searching to see if this had been discussed before but couldn't find anything.

Is there a recommended procedure if one is caught in a sweep?  Answer questions, don't answer?  (In the States the SOP is to keep yer piehole shut).  Carry I.D. with you or not?

It is mandatory ... except that foreigners might claim to be a clueless tourist.  Not recommended, but if you do get checked and don't have ID they are mostly sympathetic.  

I've had good experiences with LE in HK - though never had any contact while punting.

Is there a more commonly used term for them in HK?  I'm still trying to get used to the lingo on this forum...it's a bit different than the ones in the USA!
