china hospital..good /bad?

ok

few weeks ago i started urinating like fire and someone on the forum wrote he caught chlamydia and had this same symptom ok alarms bells rang and i thought maybe i

caught something from the few wgs in shenzhen..i.e pink apartments...behind seibu i banged.....didnt post was forgettable experience

work and such kept me away from seeing doctor about it ( and shame ,  i am pretty safe when engaging in sex) and pain in urinating went away in 2 days)

few days ago found myself in Zhuhai/china and noticed they were quite a lot of hospitals and clinics around so popped in .....went to urology dept and told chinese

doctor about my case ( he spoke good canto ) he recommend full check up .... a list of 8-9 diseases hiv ,chlamydia etc ....blood test and checked out little bro

quite professional ...results in 24 hrs and cost me about $465.5 rmb

results in ..........ALL CLEAR..... what a relief and i had slight infection in my urinary which they picked up so some 10-20 rmb pills to put that right

all results were very clear and just like a western hospital

i figure since there are so many wgs in saunas , LHL, etc in zhuhai the hospitals and clinics must be very busy and good at checking up these things

am i right or need check up again? it was a big hospital in zhuhai .... doctor took it in his stride...in and out in 30 mins....no id taken..paid and got results next day

could be one of the best $500 i spent....had a body check earlier in the year in hk and that 2k-3k

your thoughts........PLAY IT SAFE

you saw doctor .... well done, that is standard advice on the forum.

You say urinary tract infection? ............. you can even get that without sex. Anyway, anti-biotics is simple fix.

i think you're fine.  although some people might think chinese hospitals are questionable, from my experience of previously living in beijing, they are actually top-notch.  i've heard some other expats say many of the hospitals they had been to in china were better equipped than western ones in terms of state-of-the-art equipment.  i think the only question mark is communication; not all hospitals have foreign divisions (i.e. docs that speak a foreign language), so unless you speak mandarin it has the potential of being difficult.

my in-laws are leading doctors over at Shezhen Traditional Medicine Hospital (深圳市中医院), of which there are two branches, one in Luohu and one in Futian.  I can tell you from personal experience, having gone through a complete physical there two weeks ago, that the hospital is every bit as good as any hospital in the U.S., and in most cases, is much better, especially the service.  In my case, I had a personal escort pretty much going from department to department administering tests, with the wait time in each case no more than 2 minutes.  In fact, I also went to go to the Sports Medicine and the ENT departments, and the same there as well - a 2 minute wait for the doctor.  I even went for a dental cleaning ($200 RMB) in the hospital.  I would say that about 3/4 of the nurses and doctors can speak Cantonese.

All the tests and surgical methods are the same with the Traditional Medicine hospital as it is with a Western medical hospital, except that for prescription medicine for many medications, herbs are used instead.  In fact, I had a choice on many of the medicines whether to use western-style medicine, or herbal medicine.

The hospital that I went to is located in the Futian district, 3 blocks straight north from the Hua Qiang MTR station (5th stop going west from the Luohu end station).

From what I heard from a few HK friends, China hospitals are all about money.  I heard a story of a girl that went to Guangzhou and was walking on the streets when a thief used a bottle to hit her on the head before robbing her.  When they took her to the hospital, she had already lost a large amount of blood.  She could have survived had the doctors immediately helped her.  But after being robbed, she didn't have a penny on her.  So the doctors just left her there.  She died as a result.  In China, everything is about money.  Police, doctors, or whoever will not care about you if you don't have any money.

100% correct.  If you have money the service and practice is every bit as good as any Western facility.  If you don't have money, just be ready to meet your maker.
