Can someone explain how to play the (1) Dice Bluffing game and (2) that game with cards and everyone gets 13 cards (putting down pairs, 2 pairs, 5 to 8 card straights, etc) with Aces as high, JOKERS are highest...


All KTV girls in China play them, but without written rules, it's hard to follow.

In regards to the 13 card game, not sure what game includes jokers. In Chinese society, the most popular card game is big two - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Two - which involves four players, each have a set of 13 cards.

the 2nd card game u mentioned is Dou-Di-Zhu. (斗地主）
extremely popular with China WGs.

it's similar to HK's Big 2.
but with the addition of Jokers, and playing hand not limited to maximum of 5 cards.

e.g in Big 2 game, you can only put down full house, (3, 3, 3, 4, 4)
but in Dou-Di-Zhu, u can lay down 2 sets of triple cards, (3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4)
next player can put (5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6) or pass..
as long as it's in sequence it's ok..
i had one game where i put down (4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9)

mainly for 3 players.
1 will be the "banker" (地主)
the other 2 will team up to try to win the 地主, hence then name 斗地主 (fight the banker!)

2 is the smallest.
Joker the biggest.
4 of the same numbers can be used to bomb (炸) anyone.

anyway it's diffcult to explain..
u must play it a few times to understand.

i just learnt the game... a few weeks ago.. with 2 Jiayi WGs..
Cunning was there too, but he pretended to sleep, and not play.

Chinese Hand Games:  Chi Chi Cha
I know how to play a few of these quite well and can beat the locals regularly, here's a guide to playing this game.

"Chi Chi Cha" is played entirely with one hand and a few lines of Chinese that are repeated over and over again to give rhythm and timing to the game. To make the game rhythm work properly the lines are spoken by both players at the same time.  It's really quite simple and a whole lot of fun.

1) A game round starts with both players sort of counting to three to get the timing right for the first hand of the round.

"Yat... Yee..."   this means "One...  Two..."

2) Instead of saying the number Three the players will say the following.

"Chi Chi Cha"

While saying the first Chi you need to display a number of fingers with the hand of your choice, your opponent will do the same.

Note: Once you choose a hand for the round you need to continue using the same hand for entire duration of the round.

Note: Your hand should be horizontal when you display your fingers to provide your opponent with easy visibility of the number of fingers you are holding out, if your opponent is holding his hand in difficult viewing angles ask them nicely to hold them more horizontal and laugh about it and have a drink.

3) At this point both you and your opponent both have one hand out and displaying a number of fingers. Now its time to compare the numbers and determine if you score a point or not.

You can only score a point if the number of fingers you are presenting is higher by one than the number of fingers your opponent presents. So to make it simple here are the possible scoring situations.

- You have 2 fingers, and your opponent has 1
- You have 3 fingers, and your opponent has 2
- You have 4 fingers, and your opponent has 3
- You have 5 fingers, and your opponent has 4
- You have 1 fingers, and your opponent has 5  (yes 1 beats 5)

Your opponent also scores a point in the same way.....

- You have 1 fingers, and your opponent has 2
- You have 2 fingers, and your opponent has 3
- You have 3 fingers, and your opponent has 4
- You have 4 fingers, and your opponent has 5
- You have 5 fingers, and your opponent has 1  (yes 1 beats 5)

Any other combination other than the above is a scoreless hand.

4) If neither you nor your opponent has scored a point then you repeat step 2 above, remember not every hand is a point scoring hand.

5) If a point has been scored by either you or your opponent then it must be acknowledged by both players.  This is done by pulling your hand back slightly or towards your chest, your hand should not be presenting any fingers and speak the following line.

"Boom... Boom... Baahh..."

You need to remember who won the point as the game round is won by whoever has scored twice.

6) If nobody has scored twice then you must repeat Step 2 until any player has two points and the round is finished.

If you loose the round you must drink....you either have to drink the whole glass or just take a good gulp depends on what you and your opponent have agreed in advance.

This is not a 100% game of luck, this is actually a game that you can become good at, and different players have different levels of skill.  The key to becoming a good player is to be able to figure out your opponents strategy / pattern of play just as you would do from playing multiple rounds of rock paper scissors. You and your opponent will continually be changing your strategies / patterns of play, if you can adapt to your opponents strategy / pattern of play faster than the opponent can adapt to your strategy / pattern of play you win far more hands than your opponent.  Of course sometimes when you win its just luck.

Its not a competition... the point is to have fun, lose with dignity laugh and drink up, the point is to have fun after all.  As you get better the rounds will go faster as you will play to a faster rhythm this also means you drink more often, its easy to drink too much so be careful....you have been warned.

This is one game I hate when I am drunk.....I get dunker.......u need to think and shout out spontaneously....


Nowaday I prefer the easy "Turtle Turtle Jump" game, u only need to use your five fingers for that.....and u still can move your fingers while u are drunk.......

If you finger match the other person finger and it was your call, the other person lose and drink.

Seems easy enough!!

..but.... Wu Gui Wu Gui Tiao  seems more troublesome to say when you're drunk
