Preventing Malware

We all share the same worry about our computers becoming infected with malware whenever we download porn, or whatever.  I ran across this free app a month ago and it seems to work really well to prevent infections--it runs your web browser (or any application-Quicktime, WMP, etc.) in a sandbox.  A sandbox on a pc is an isolated area that nothing can get out of...same idea as Google Chrome, if nothing can get out, it cannot infect your pc.  You can run any program inside the sandbox.  When you are done, everything is deleted, poof, gone.

Here's the link:  http://www.sandboxie.com/.  It is free, after 30 days, you have to wait 5 seconds for it to open, no big deal.  Just be sure to close all other open browser windows if you want full protection--only run the one instance inside the sandbox.  A nice plus is that no browser history is recorded in your unsandboxed browser--no traces for the wife/gf to find!

If there are any IT experts out there, your thoughts would be most welcome.

Always a bit suspisous about such programs as some of them have trogan's etc - I prefer to have the latest AV , Firewall etc and use IE8 in privacy setting i.e. InPrivate browsing so no histroy or cookies saved.
FYI - been on Vista now for nearly 2 years and have not had any virus/malware problems - but then again I regularly patch and run updates.

Not sure how technical you are but if you are really paranoid - I even know a person who has setup a virtual pc for just browsing so that he can just rebuild the virtual machine if required. Bit too geeky if u ask me.
