After growing up in the US, I recently moved to Hong Kong for work, and hoping to date casually.

My friend, a generation older than me (in their early 60s) warned me about girls in Hong Kong. For example, as a hypothetical situation: they warned me that if they know I grew up in the west, an attractive woman would try to peak my interest, strike up a relationship with me, and act all willing. But then in the middle of having sex, she would suddenly say "no", and then might later claim that I raped her. And maybe try to extort something from me. Or use me to emigrate, then leave me as soon as she lands.

In the west, we're not allowed to question accusations, lest we be cancelled. And none of the woke western relationship/sex-advice blogs even consider this possibility. But I honestly think that's naive.

Here's the real situation I'm facing now:

So, there's a girl who is pretty forward with me and giving lots of signs that she is interested in me almost immediately after we met. We met because I was looking for rentals, and she was the real estate agent. According to the woke western blogs, it's a green light for me to explore something with her. But what about the warnings from my older friend?

Is my friend exaggerating about the maliciousness of some Hong Kong girls, or is this common? Any advice on how to protect myself? Any stories to share?

Just to be clear, I'm more worried about if she'll try to extort or blackmail me later. I don't care if she'll use me to get a green card later then leave me.

we are now in the 23rd century and most foreigners here no longer command the earnings they once did, so interest in foreigners are not the flavor of the month anymore

As your friend said, you're lucky enough to be a foreigner, so attractive local women are eager to date you. Keep an open mind and take advantage of that. Blackmailing is very unlikely, and if it does happen, it happens to local men too. At least you don't need to try hard to get a date.

Having grown up in the very woke Australia, I think you are at far greater risk in Western countries than in HK. Do be careful with crazy attached mainland girls and do be careful with pregnancies. I've always found girls in the dating scene very relaxed around condom use and stressed a few times about my stupid cum first ask later policy. I have been lucky but a few friends of mine have ended up being forced to pay money to avoid longer term commitments or indeed ended up having the kids. PH girls are known for this.

Specifically on real estate agents, I have always found the girls super commercial and practical. Always looking for an upgrade to date a richer guy. You just have to be that richer guy. Of course she might just be flirting to get your attention.

A few years ago, when I was selling my property in HK, I already had an agreed deal. It's common in HK to still have an agent to do the paperwork, and they can still get paid 1% from each of buyer and seller, subject to negotiation. I took my deal to this youngish hot looking agent who I saw regularly handing out flyers in the mid levels. I told her upfront that I liked her and would she be interested in selling my property. She had to get her senior to do the sale but she got huge credit and commissions for it. I also asked her for a drink and basically fucked her regularly during documentation and until settlement. We saw each other on and off until COVID hit and we naturally stopped texting. Or maybe she found a richer guy. Anyway the point is they are very commercial and realistic. You don't have to be super direct but they know what you want.

Generically:

* make sure that you don't get her pregnant, by any means necessary (short of force of course)
* always see her either in public such as a restaurant or in private at a hotel or at your place, never at her place (you could be recorded)
* never put anything sexual in writing with her

a side effect of following these guidelines is that the girl becomes the person who needs to worry about her reputation since you might have in fact secretly recorded her at any of your mutual dalliances.
