A friend of mine in Taiwan was telling me how the mafia was involved in giving people money in Macau and going after them for the money in China to where many people were killed for being unable to pay their debts. Supposedly this was one of the main reasons the Chinese government limited the amount that they could take to Macau from China to gamble with along with the number of times per year that each person could visit Macau from China.

Page no longer available.

Loveasia, nice name btw.

I think the limit on the amt of RMB that can be brought to Macau has less to do with people being killed over unsettled debt than it does with controlling the in/outflow of currency in order to protect its value.
