International Cigarette Prices

hi fellas,

seeing that the 141forum has a wealth of international reports and information on
punting, surely it has the global potential and network to supply non-mongering information
as well. i am sure many brothers are either locals from other parts of the world, expats or
frequent travellers and surely, there must be a number of tobacconistas among us

we all know cigarette prices vary (sometimes considerably) from one country to another.
getting a carton of duty-free cigarettes may not be worth the money especially if you
are going to only be in the country for a couple of days. so, perhaps a thread like this
would benefit the smokers as we roam from corner to corner of the globe:

HK - Marlboro (20) - HKD 39 [approx USD 5.03]

China - Mild Seven (20) - RMB 12 [approx USD 1.75]

Spain - Marlboro (20) - EUR 2.45 [approx USD 3.50]

UK - Marlboro (20) - GBP 5.35 [approx USD 8.82]

These are the non-duty free prices for a standard 20 stick packet for these countries. let this thread grow as you
punt around the world!

it may be cheaper if you calculate the costs on paper, but it will probably be money wasted as
i doubt that you will actually receive the cigarettes.
customs authorities around the world (especially in the countries where
cigarette prices are really high) will be particularly alert to such shipments
of foreign cigarettes no matter how small the quantity may be. it is a signature
power of any customs authority to confiscate such contraband.

Anyone know any online shops that sell cigarettes and ship them to the US. I'm a mild 7 smoker and I'm running low.

Thanks in advance!

there used to be this online shop which sold mild seven from china and shipped internationally.
however, it has 'closed' sometime ago and even if it did not, i would not recommend that
you use this service because a friend of mine in the UK placed an order with them twice and
both times, he did not receive his cigarettes. the first time, the package was confiscated by
UK customs and the second time, the shop did not even dispatch his item! they did not
provide a tracking number (they did so the first time). in both cases, it was money wasted
as no refunds were given.

so bear in mind that before you can get your cheap ciggies, you have to deal not only with
the US customs authorities, but a dodgy and unreliable seller.

It'd be an even bigger waste if the cigs actually arrived.

Yea, I used to be able to order them online without any issues, but now they are sold out everywhere. Every site I've looked at, they are sold out. Not sure why, but I may have to start paying $6 for a pack of Marlboros's.

In Muscat, relatively cheaper. A 20s pack of Dunhill / Marlborough is less than RO 1 i.e. Aaprox. USD 2.5

And even better is the price of some of the best vintage French wine I've had (with a liquor license you can buy from selected shops). A 1999 vintage Medoc costs less than RO 4.5 i.e. USD 11.65

I'm not a big smoker, but I have been told that even though it might be a marlboro because they are manufactured in different places; smokers
can tell the difference and it bothers some people the difference in taste

I can remember back when I used to smoke that there was no tax on full tobacco leaves.  I used to live in a tobacco belt and you could buy them from farmers (and a few enterprising corner stores) and run them through a pasta maker.  Instant fresh, raunchy tobacco.
But dirt, dirt cheap.  The cigarette tubes were more expensive than the tobacco!

The odds of getting them into the states even if it was a reliable seller are pretty slim...US customs are pretty good at picking them out...my friend got his order of Marlborol black menthol confiscated by customs a month or 2 ago
