What type of camera do you have ?

What camera do you have ?

I see some NICE pictures of girls. Sometimes I wonder what type of camera was used to take the pictures.

I am looking to buy a camera maybe a Micro 4/3 System. A Micro 4/3 System is smaller than the usual DSLR camera. INHO, A DSLR is too big to carry around. I was also thinking a high end compact. I would also like HD video ( at least 720p ). I might have to wait until July/Aug 2010 when all the models come out for fall.

If you have any suggest for a camera please provide.

Also a link to some of your pictures on 141.  thks...

The Micro 4/3 system is great. Best to wait for the new Sept line up of Lumix 4/3 format cameras. At present the Olympus EPL-1 can shoot in 720 HD movies, this is the model that followed the successful EP1. Think smaller is better but whatever you get, just don't get one of those Lumix in Red or White color, stick with Black.

i got an Canon SLR, G11 and Ixus. i usually bring the G11 (my pics of VR, Wet Wet, Flat White, Esso and M M in the HK reports section are taken with the G11). also have the HF200 Legria from Canon as HD videocam.

i personally do not suggest micro 4/3. true, there are interchangeable lenses, but the true worth of a camera is the sensor, not the lens. a regular DSLR with kit lens can outshoot any micro 4/3 camera with its highest end lens due to its superior sensor. with the size of the micro 4/3 cameras (about the same size as a G11), the sensor is physically limited by the camera casing and cant be that big to begin with.

if we're talking weight and bulk here, the micro 4/3 with a good lens is not any more portable than an entry level DSLR with kit lens (Canon's for example). and the entry level DSLR is not that heavy to begin with.

i think you get better value with an entry level DSLR which will serve you in good stead also when the photography bug finally hits you.

of course, if you want ultra portable for mongering pics, i recommend the Canon S90. its got the same sensor as the G11, and is much smaller at the expense of expandability.it is a great low light camera.

I have two cameras - Canon S90 and Nikon D300. For serious stuff, I use the D300 whilst the S90 is used for fun and partying.

The S90 is a good prosumer camera for everyday photography and small enough to put in your pocket for mongering.

I have a Canon IXY Digital 90. It's a little old but it takes pretty good photos. It's small, light and it can record videos.

Forgot to add:

Need a link to a thread for pictures for your camera. If you have more than one thread great. This is for examples of your pictures. Pls edit your post to include a link if it's not there. And a short write up why it's great, or why you are using it. If you are using it because it is cheap like a cell phone for 141 pictures, it's fine but that is not what I'm looking to buy soon. "Geoduck" and "DaBestHK" both has some nice shoots and a short write up but no link to any threads.

For example "geoduck" has a micro 4/3, Lumix GF1. I don't think he used a flash but had high ISO. His thread to his post is :

http://forum.sex141.com/eforum/v ... &extra=page%3D1

For "DaBestHK" used a G11. and I believe no flash but high ISO ???.  His thread is :

http://forum.sex141.com/eforum/v ... &extra=page%3D3

http://forum.sex141.com/eforum/v ... &extra=page%3D4

"touristinhk" used a canon 5D markII for his pictures. Great pictures but I think he used a flash.

http://forum.sex141.com/eforum/v ... &extra=page%3D1

http://forum.sex141.com/eforum/v ... &extra=page%3D1

I see some great pictures and I wonder what camera ?  Thanks..........

DaBestHK, yes sensor size is important with DSLR but I would like a small camera. A smaller camera is more important on my requirements. Then it is picture quality.  I like the size of a micro 4/3 but it might be out for me because of the price. There are about 900 to 1000 USD. I have been reading some of the website for reviews on camera like dpreview.com. The pictures posted on many of these sites are taken by professional and usually the best pictures are used.

I had a SLR ( flim ) about 15 years ago. It was too heavy and big to carry around. It got stolen. It wasn't too much of a lost b/c I got it used and it was old.  I would have brought the G11 if it had at least 720p with zoom for video.

Most likely I will wait if new models come out for G12, LX4/5 and micro 4/3 in the summer. Then there might be some killer camera from Nikon or from Sony. Then I will compare the spec, price and pictures. It be great if some had 1080 video with zoom. thks.......

I use a Canon D90 for taking nice photo's.  But for cruising around and something light, I just purchased a Sony TX5.  I havent had a chance to play around with it, but its waterproof so it will be cool for under water photo's.

if thats the case, get the Canon S90. great low light performance, small size, nice sensor. read reviews at kenrockwell.com. best of all, I think the S90 is around US$400. I dont know where you live , but if in the US, it is cheap online. If in HK, try going to Broadway, its a chain, and they include freebies like 8GB SD card etc. should be around HKD3k+.

other links to photos taken with the G11 (technically the same sensor as the S90, so you can have an idea)

all photos no flash, ISO between 800 to 1600.

Hey Wheelock,

The D90 is an excellent camera. I bought one for my friend and played around with it at the shop. Takes great pictures. I am a big fan of the micro4/3 system and believe that the quality of the pictures are the same as some of the regular DSLRs. It's a new technology and I am pretty impressed of what it can do as I also own a Canon EOS 500D and even with a magnifying glass cannot tell the pictures apart from my Lumix GF1.What you shall find that in time is that a smaller camera is always best particularly when you have to travel. It just fits better in the bag.

BTW, here's the link: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Olympus/oly_epl1.asp

One final mention and advice if you're interested in the GF1. The cost for the camera is USD900 which comes with either the pancake 20mm lens or the zoom. I advise you to go for the pancake lens (20mm) because if you were to take the zoom and then get the pancake later this will cost you an extra USD160 more. The zoom will cost less if you buy it separately.

I find it amazing that you guys bring SLRs to punt!

I figure a hand held would be fine, but it would be kinda weird for me to bring an SLR.  In the US, cameras are dirt cheap.  I have like 4 different hand helds for under 80 USD that range from 10-12 mp, some take HD pics and high quality video, although not HD, I have a mini kodak pocket HD video cam, I think I got it for like 100 USD with an 8gig sd card.  Electronics are ridiculously cheap now.  Hk people are hardcore cameraphiles.  I can't imagine spending 2000 USD on a camera, but I know people do and spend more on lenses too, geez... too rich for my blood, although I like to drive nicer vehicles.

I'm not down with that shit at all.  In fact, I get offended by shit like that, but then again, there are many bros who buy gifts, etc...  no offense to those bros, I just ain't down with that kinda shit.  I rather save the money and get my kids some legos or something.

Thanks, this info. is particularly valuable to me. My first digital camera was Olympus (they where giving them away with my 1st mac) and I've stuck with them for the simple reason that I could recycle my old memory cards and I knew there wouldn't be any compatibility issues with my mac.

I dont think it's that outrageous. If the girls are in the database, that probably means someone at least semi pro shot the pictures. I can't imagine them using a point and click (although who knows). So i'm guessing that they would've already been shot in front of an SLR before.
