Chinese New Year traffic

Hello all..

probably not the right area to post this but question to all who live and monger in Macau, HK, China

Chinese New Year is late this time if I'm correct - sometime in Feb 2010???...

When do the girls start going back to their homeland during the festival season.. as I know there will be a shortage in girls all over the place??

I would like to avoid this if making a trip over there next Feb (probably end of Feb - into March) - so would most girls be back towards the end of Feb early March??

cheers

Will move this to the chat section sinces its more appropriate there.

Chinese New Year is in mid-February from 13th till 16th in Hong Kong. Expect some girls going back a little earlier than this to avoid the mad rush back to their hometowns. Usually most would stay in their hometowns up to 2 weeks. So you are right, most places would resume back to full service at the beginning of March.

You can still go to saunas and other establishments but will have minimal girls to choose from - as you have mentioned.

In Macau do you mean? I doubt it but the LE does check on visa overstayers (but that was a couple of months ago) since prostitution is legal in Macau. However, soliciting for sex is illegal in Macau.

Pardon me if I sound weird, but is the Chinese new year on a set calender, or does it float on what day it lands due to a difference between the lunar calender and the western calender?

The Chinese calendar follows the moon. The western calendar follows the sun. Each year, the date falls differently on the western calendar.  Last year, CNY was in late January.  Suggest you doing a search on the web for more information like yahoo or google.

It's estimated well over 100 million people go home for the holiday. They will reunite with their families and relatives. It is the largest annual human migration in the world. I estimate at least 60% or more of the girls will go home. Some will leave early to avoid the mad rush. Expect all types of transportation cost to go up during CNY. Prices can be double the normal cost.  It's also much colder. The girls cover up more and it's a little harder to see their bodies. People will start to trickle in slowly. Expect things to be back to normal around late March.

If you don't know about Chinese New Year you probably don't know prostitution is ILLEGAL in China. Just before CNY there are the usual crackdowns. Also expect more crime.  Both criminals and LE want some money for the NEW YEAR too. Overall, it's not a good time to visit China.

Two videos on the mad rush going back home. After watch the videos, you will know why people cut in line in China. You don't want to be the last one.

^^oh my! this scene was similar to the one i experienced when i was in hk. i was at near the front of the harbor on national day, waiting for fireworks, had a great spot, near the front and right in the middle. when it was close to show time, people from the back started pushing and trying to get in front. next to me was an old lady, and this guy pushed her and got in front of her. i yelled at him (dont know why i did because i usually dont do stuff like that), saying that she was waiting here all day, and he apologized and went away.

Hard to say bro. Given the Chinese new year is in mid-February, some girls may leave before or after this period to avoid the mad rush home. That said, you should be okay but expect some of your choices to be unavailable or fewer girls at saunas during February...

Please read the earlier posts on this thread. Its the whole week bro. However, the official public holidays is between 15th and 16th. However, people in China go back to their roots to celebrate this period and usually lasts from 1 week to 2 weeks.

The girls deserve a good rest and for sure need a break.
Need to see more WG before they go back for the CNY.

CNY is on Sunday 14 Feb.
If any girls are leaving town, they usually do so about a week before that and they
will come back anywhere between 1 to 2 weeks after the holidays.

Yes - CNY is Valentine's day - Feb 14 - this year.

But I've heard from quite a few girls/mommies etc that they are going to leave a bit earlier than usual this year; they're all worried about another "Big Freeze" as we've experienced some pretty cold weather in China this year.

Just what I've been hearing "on the ground"
