Cute video of a Cebu Air Flight Attendants dancing to Lady Gaga to demo the safety procedures.  The FA shown is cute and if all airlines did this on my flights it would make the trip just that much better.  Writer of article thinks this video was staged as a PR stunt by the airline.

Airlines are slashing amenities left and right these days--legroom, blankets, check-on baggage allotments, peanuts, and free meals are now pretty hard to come by in the not-so-friendly skies--but luckily the Philippines' Cebu Pacific Airlines hasn't cut back on its in-flight entertainment, judging by a new viral video currently flying around the Interweb faster than a Concord.

In the cute and funny clip, Cebu flight attendants choreograph what would otherwise be a dull safety demonstration to pop hits by Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. The smiling stewardesses demonstrate proper seatbelt-fastening techniques and life-vest deployment to Gaga's "Just Dance," then show off their coordinated oxygen-mask-fastening skills and point out the nearest exits while shimmying in their retro-mod orange uniforms to "California Gurls."

Yes, apparently electronic devices are still forbidden on flights, but electronic music is perfectly fine. In fact, with the monotonic, Max Headroom-esque voice reciting Cebu's safety instructions on top of the Lady and Katy songs, the effect is like one cool techno mashup. We wouldn't be surprised if clever DJs start spinning the "Cebu Megamix" in Philippines airport lounges pretty soon.

Obviously this clip makes for a better Cebu advertisement than any legitimate big-budget commercial could ever provide. Which begs the question: Was this video planted online by Cebu? Quite possibly.

Case in point: The amused passenger who uploaded this onto YouTube, "wingco1129," only joined YouTube yesterday (the day this clip was apparently shot), and has no other videos on his/her YouTube channel. Additionally, winco1129's description accompanying the video says [sic], "something interesting happened on my Cebu pacific flight this afternoon. the FAs suddenly burst into a dance!!! that was soooo cooool!!!" But if wingco was really so surprised (assuming he/she is not a frequent Cebu flier)...then how did he/she know to have the camera at the ready and to hit record right when the first notes of "Just Dance" were played? Huh?

So yes, this was probably staged. But if so...who cares? Clearly the marketing execs over at Cebu are geniuses. And beside, these attendants are actually getting passengers to pay attention to safety demonstrations for once, and they're making the skies just a little friendlier (and funkier). So everyone wins.

I am sure that in good time if this does not occur on a regular basis then it will be known as a publicity stunt. Either way it works since i had never even heard of Cebu Air. Now only if all FA looked that good , i just got on a Qantas flight and there wasn't one FA below 45yrs old and some were men.

almost every band in every bar in HK is from the Philippines. They really do have the "music in them". I have not seen that before but it's fantastic! It's not hard to see why the girls fit in so well at Wan Chai bars. Excellent!

First time I heard about Cebu airlines.

Now that the whole world knows about this airline, what next?

Bring on the Pole dancing FA's please.

I agree, she is really cute.  And just the energy/enthusiasm that she displays is spot on

Well, the air stewardess certainly has my attention. Believe this is staged and they got their prettiest air stewardess to do the dance routine but a great idea.

I would rather watch the cutie on Cebu anyday versus that crap on southwest.  Southwest used to have some of the hottest stew's, now they are filled with gay dudes and old fat chicks!!

Yeah, this is like the fourth board I've seen this on this week, I'm very fond of the lead FA, I wouldn't mind using her safety cushions in case of a hard landing. .

Delta's safety video is amusing, only because it's so politically correct, but this one is great. Yeah, I agree, the announcer doing the voice over sounds like a DJ. Is it staged? Who cares?

My next trip to Asia, I want to go all over including the PI. Their fares look pretty good, glad they got my attention.

Have flown Cebu Pacific a few times, cheap fares, no complaints. They also have the most beautiful flight attendants I've ever seen. Wouldn't be too surprised if this were real. Will find out for sure in a few months time...

wow great video. that flight attendant is super cute and can dance pretty good. interesting way to get the safety message out, but i was to interested in watching the pretty girl then listening.

Man... I fly all over Asia on a couple of different airlines and now will have to see if the secretary can book me on a Air Cebu.

This is making the rounds everywhere, I have a few friends looking at flight prices to the PI right now.  Great advertisement all around.
