Oakley

How popular is Oakley in HK? I saw that a lot of stores carried Oakley sunglasses. But I didn't see that many people wearing it on the streets.

RICO is a big oakley fan......But i think the main brand of sunglasses in Hong Kong is Ray bans......The new carbon fibre ones looked dead cool..

I bought the C Six (aluminum) and it was all right. But I would expect to have much better warranty with that kind of price tag. Seriously! lol Time Bomb II looks hella cool as well! But the major drawback is the adjustment. The design didn't really consider the size adjustment factor and didn't implement anything for it. So you have to cut the rubber/plastic part when you take out a link or so.  Again, with that kind of price tag, I would expect much better design and warranty as well.

They all come with 1 yr warranty like any other products.

Gave up on expensive sunglasses years ago. They're too easily lost/broken/stolen.

are you asian or westerner? oakleys are made for westerner with high noses, its only been recently that they came out with theAsian fit Oakleys. so take that into consideration when in HK. buy the one that will fit you.

i've had a few pairs like the metal jacket and the hijinx, and so far, love their polarized lenses.

The regular Oakley fits me fine. I have Romeo 2.0 and Square X along with cheaper ones like half jacket and Gascan. I also like the apparel such as hoodie, sandal, shoe, t-shirt, polo, jean, etc. When I go out, I usually Oakley out. lol

oakley's are not commonly found in hong kong, you may find them at the airport more so than the local stores..

If you like Oakley, you should check out the Rebel brand.

Very nice polarized lenses, not too bad for price.  Can be a lot dressier than Oakleys if needed.

You would be able to find Oakleys easily in shops in Tsimshatsui. They are usually featured separately in their own glass showcase. Don't think they're as popular as they were 6-8 years ago. Back then in HK everyone was trying to get a pair of the Romeo model which was sold out most of the time even thought it was very overpriced.

That is crazy! NO FUCKING WAY! How can they open an Oakley store in Macau but they don't have one in HK?

I know right? It's a bit insane and I am surprised too.

I'm sure that the store in Macau is not an official Oakley store but an authorized dealer only.. still though! Fricking awesome.

you can buy Oakley very easy in HK in many places - TST, Central, Causeway Bay, Wanchai, Mongkok. I thought it is a very common brand already. But i think you won't see too many people wear this brand on street. I think you will find more people wear it on beach though.

Totally!!

I wear prescription glasses and so need prescription sunnies as well, which of course adds to the price.

After losing a heap of expensive sunnies, I bought a cheap pair of non-brand frames. Of course, I have had those for about 5 years now - haven't lost or broken them yet.

No doubt if I upgrade to a decent pair, I will lose them straight away!!!
