Hotel in Guangzhou

Hi Guys,
Don't know if anyone can give me a hand. What a good hotel to stay in Guanzhou? Somewhere centralized? Have not been there before. So want someplace easy to navigate.
Regards,
AlanC

Hotel

Hi Alan.
I always stay at Star Hotel.  I find this a very convenient location for traveling to CP, SZ & HK by train.  It is located one block from the East Train Station and also houses Guangzhou's subway system which services most parts of GZ.

It is a 3.75 star hotel with breakfast.  rates run around 60 USD.

Hope this helps

Not much to see in Guangzhou but you can checkout Shamian Island:

There is also the Qingping wet market. Looks of interesting live rare species of animals to see there (for your dinner).

I've been in GZ few times and I can suggest Ocean Hotel in Huanshi dong lu 412 , rate is about 60 USD.
It's not far from downtown and have also a massage center with FS option   on 4th floor with nice girls.

Let me know if you need more info

I have to say, doing your research is always good but i wish i knew that as soon as you arrive at guangzhou east railway station, there loads of shops there that can book the hotel for you, and at cheaper than internet rates.

Some will arrange transport/transfers depending on the hotel too.

There is a hotel called the Guangzhou Hotel 广州品官 at an awesome location.
It is very central in the city, on the doorstep of HaiZhuGuangChang 海珠广场 subway.
Walkable to the waterfront where all the good seafood restaurants and hangout bars are.
24-hr mcdonalds across the road too.
5min taxi ride to Shamian Island
Many restaurants and busy surrounding.
Massage and KTV built-in to the hotel (I never tried it though..... so i dunno what they offer)

Price is around rmb300 I think. Very reasonable because the hotel is slightly outdated.
