Chelsea Clinton prenup - US$10m for cheating

Former first daughter, Chelsea Clinton is getting married to investment banker Mark Mezvinsky and in the prenuptial agreement, the new son in law of former president Bill Clinton would have to fork out US$10 million to Chelsea if he is ever caught cheating. This is kind of harsh and don't think poor Marc will ever be paying us a visit here on this forum.

I'm sure there's a clause about cigars, and limiting the use of them LOL!

I have to admit I am curious as to how explicit the wording was around this particular issue.

Can you imagine the pep talk Bill would give to the son-in-law?? I bet it won't be, "If you ever mistreat my daughter in any way, I'll cut your balls off."

what if he gets caught copping a BJ. According to his father-in-law it's not really sex so shouldn't count right?

Exactly oral does not count as sex. Though I have a feeling mom helped out on clarifying that particular detail!

Tell me - if ANYONE of us here had signed such a pre-nup, wouldn't EVERY ONE of us now pronto get divorced?

A divorce would - except perhaps for Geoduck and Twice - cost a lot cheaper vs. paying out US$10 million (after tax)!!

IDIOTS THIS COUPLE!!

May not be a bad idea. If the son-in-law is going to be worth hundreds of millions one day, this prenup may actually save his ass. I can imagine Tiger Woods reading this then smacking his head and going, shit i should have signed one of these!

To be fair who cares about Chelsea Clinton.

Famous for what exactly.

Having a parent that nearly got impeached out of the whitehouse, dodgy real estate deals and cigar insertion. Oh and mommy failed to run as president and is very good at causing overseas diplomatic incidents.

But her? Famous by association. An indictment of the media led world we live in....

Rant over. I'm sure he could spend some of that 10 mil hiring a good security firm to cover his trails

These folks are too rich to relate to.

If I had to venture a guess I'd say the purpose of that clause in a pre-marital agreement would be to "undo" or override the laws of the jurisdiction that they live in. I'm also going to bet that the clause applies to both parties.

For instance, California is a "no fault" state, so if someone cheats, and they decide to terminate their marriage over it, the reasons for the separation are immaterial. In Virginia, there is a penalty for infidelity, and you'd loose your claim over joint assets for cheating.

Who knows exactly what they were thinking, or why this was considered to be actually newsworthy.
