A father of five who molested his daughter and prostituted her to his truckie mates has been jailed for 13 years.
The 58-year-old father, from central Victoria, induced his teenage daughter - who had a mild intellectual disability - to have sex with his friends by asking her if she wanted to make "some quick cash".
The father, who cannot be identified to protect his daughter's identity, pleaded guilty to six counts including two of incest, and one of maintaining a sexual relationship with a child under 16.
The father made a video recording of his daughter having sex with his friend and then said: "I think I'll have go."
In sentencing today, a County Court judge said the father's actions were a gross breach of his daughter's trust.
"The harm caused to her is profound and seriously eroded her prospects of a normal life," the judge said.
The abuse began when the daughter was 13 and wanted to leave school, the court heard.
The father paid her between $100 and $200 to have sex with him. The daughter was earlier raped by a boarder at her mother's home. In a recorded conversation between the daughter and the father, the daughter asked why he had abused her. The father replied that he had done it to help his daughter and "it was good money".
The judge said the father's offending was premeditated and deliberate, and his behaviour had a corrupting influence on her.
The judge rejected the father's claim that he abused his daughter because he himself had been a victim of sexual abuse from his mother.
"There is no real explanation for your behaviour other than that you were prepared to sexually exploit a vulnerable young person for your own sexual gratification."
The judge said the father would be at risk of reoffending once released from prison if he did not participate in sexual offence courses. But she doubted how effective such courses would be, given his denials of the abuse and his application to have his plea of guilty changed.
The court heard the father doubted that the victim was his biological daughter.
The father was jailed for 13 years, and must serve a minimum of nine years before being eligible for release.
He will be a registered sex offender for life.

Crims have there own hierarchy in prison. People like this truckie are only one step above pedophiles or "rock spiders" as they call them. Believe me when I tell you that prison time for someone like this is far worse than a death penalty, if he survives 9 years it will seem like a lifetime.

i dont think my mind can comprehend such a cruel act against another human being like that especially one done by someone that's your father. i think 13 years for the damage he has done to his daughter is to less. to make things worst he allow strangers to do the same things he did to his own daughter, WTF!
