Current cost of visa into china anyone?

hi all,

I just submitted my app for a visa to china in melbourne.. they have moved their offices which is good as the lines where long as and the opening hours where short... The lines in the past where like an hour long at best and the services where like from 9 to 12.. these days it is open from 9 to 3 and i only lined waited for 10 mins, bloody amazing!
But it seems that to cover their cost of the new offices and extra workers they have jacked up their prices.. from abt $45aud to $75aud for a single entry.
Can anyone tell me the current price for a visa?? maybe it is cheaper to get it at the boarder..

i'm not too sure what you mean by borders.. but when i applied for my visa to china, it cost 150 USD, that's multiple (unlimited) entries within the year.

You can definitely get it at the Shenzen border cheaper then 75 AUD for a single entry I think about half what you paid in Australia, it takes anywhere from 30 min to 1 1/2 hour depending on the line.

I found the red tape in China to be convoluted and can change at the last minute without notice. You wouldn't want to get to the border only to find that they've changed the rules and you needed an extra piece of paper that's in your Melbourne office desk.

I'd always get the consulate visa before leaving, just for peace of mind.

I thought the Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chu border points only allowed you into the SZ special economic area and no farther?

To the OP, its £50 in the UK, in Mongolia and Russia a Chinese visa is $50USD, $150 to Americans, 3 days wait, need proof of flights in and out and hotel bookings.

Plus the Chinese embassies overseas open only 6 hours a week 3 hours on Monday 3 hours on thurs

They know people want to go to China and therefore can put as many hoops as they want to make people jump through them.

You are right about the limited zone you can travel, I'm not sure how far this zone is but it was good enough for me to head to Mission hills for golf then CP for some fun or at least I didn't get stopped and have my visa checked.

But definitely if you plan on venturing further in I would get the Visa abroad.

In Canada $50 for single entry good for 3 months/ $75 double entry good for 6 months/ $100 for 6 months/ $150 for 1 year unlimited entries no need of proof of flights and hotels they just need a form to be filled and a ID type picture.

At the border you can only get a limited ViSA for Shenzhen. There is nothing stopping you from traveling beyond Shenzhen but just don't get caught. If transiting in HK, best to get one from the China Travel Service or a travel agency. This will take one day and cost HK$500. Just complete the form along with your photo and collect it by the end of the day (if you submit this in the morning). The visa you get from the travel agent would be valid for travel throughout China.

I don't think it will be any cheaper at the border. I know for a fact that the prices to get a Visa in the US has gone up. I am goingto HK in 10 days for a Month and the Visa for Multi entry cost me 130 USD. The visa however is good for 1 year.

So much confusion.

Here check out these two threads.

1st thread:

http://forum.sex141.com/eforum/v ... &highlight=visa

In my comment #13, there is also a link to some additional information about all the China visas and restrictions.

2nd thread:

http://forum.sex141.com/eforum/v ... &highlight=visa

Read everything in those 2 threads and most of all your questions can be answered about getting a visa in HK or at the borders.

bro, you can find out from this

http://www.china-embassy.org/eng/hzqz/zgqz/t84246.htm

i would suggest you do not try to wander away from shenzhen if you are going to purchase the limited visa at the border.

lucky you aren't from the states like me....$130 for everything now! and having the travel agency process for me cost at least $15.

gluck bro!

how can u get it for free?? China, these days charges for everything.

Also I have tried getting a multi entry visa for 6mths or 1 year.. but they want me to prove i have relos in china, otherwise there is no way. I think they restrict the visa's coz they want to make more money from multiple applications. In my passport alone i have like 6 visa 's for the past 2and a half years.. fuckers keep ripping me off!

I've noticed that U.S. passport holders are being charged significantly more than everyone else. Last time I got a 1 month visa at the consulate here in Sydney, I think it was $30AUD. If you had a U.S. passport I think it was more than 4x this amount. Does anyone know the reason for this two tier system? Is it simply higher processing costs imposed by the U.S. ?
