HTC Android phones

My iPhone 3gs screen cracked today when I left it in the sun too long then dropped it (My second cell phone in 6 months ). I'm looking to get a new phone with a qwerty keyboard that can watch videos and surf like the iPhone and my friend recommended the HTC android series. Does anyone have experience with them? How are they compared to the iPhone OS and Blackberry ?

Does all the Google Android apps and functions work in Hong Kong? How would you compare the Android to the iPhone?
