I'm with  George "Rush" Saint Pierre. He's a top notch fighter. I'd like to see him put on weight and fight in the upper weight category and see if he can get the title belt (I wish he could).
Go ! Montreal guy

I think if he was to go up in weight that he would get rocked..... Anderson Silvia would so own him!He needs to move up in weight so he can prove himself.

Yes, moving up would be a good way to prove himself. It's no fun if he stays in his weight category just defending his belt. Eventually, he'll get his ass kicked by somebody else and will have to work hard to get it back and so on.
Andeson Silva vs GSP ?!!! It's one of my dream fight !!! I doubt this will happen one day. But in the meantime, I'm just waiting for Machida vs Shogun 2. I'm a big fan of Shogun but I don't think he'll make it, because Machida is just awesome.

Anderson Silva is tearing up Light heavyweight.  Silva vs. any of the top light heavyweights would be awesome.

for this fight GSP for sure; who would think otherwise?

Mir is my pick over Carwin.  Mir's been looking real good.  I wanna see him against Cain Valasquez though, or Cain vs. Brock if Brock recovers.

My fight pick: Rampage Vs. Rashad Evans -> so much anger.  They'll just beat each other down with fists.

Machida vs Shogun 2. My money is on Shogun. He was so close to Beating Machida the first time. Now that he gets his second chance I think he will win it.

I'd like to see the Mir vs Lesnar rematch. After all of the shit talking on both sides, this would truely be a great fight. Mir has bulked up but will it be enough against Lesnar, who is pretty much a steroid freak. Intestinal issues? Right....

As for the GSP fight, this will be a stroll in the park for him.

Finally, is it just me or do some other people think of Machida like a real life Ryu? lol

I do MMA for fun but not profesionally. I have trained with some of the best before. Did some training with Dan Henderson and Tito Ortiz before.

Kudos.

I've always wanted to take on MMA since I saw the first UFC with Royce Gracie kicking everybody's ass.
But unfortunately, all MMA clubs were far from my city and I've always been quite lazy anyway sportwise (never really practiceany).

A few famous fighters came in one of the club I wanted to train, such as: Wanderlei Silva, Emilianenko Fedor, Ricardo Arona and so on. At that time these people were mostly famous in Europe because Pride was more famous than UFC here so we could get some fighters to come here. Even Joan Carneiro alas Jucao ( who was the first Brazilian jiu jitsu trainer of Minautoro Nogeira) was giving BJJ lessons  here. Now, I regret I didn't take the chance, because this club doesn't exist anymore. The only MMA fighter I had the chance to meet is Randy Couture during his short retirement period. I was in Toronto and I think he was promoting MMA.

I think I might be living in Montreal for one year next year. I wonder if  a famous fighter like GSP might give lessons to beginners or they are only focused on their own training or giving lessons to advanced fighters only ? It would be great to join his gym and benefit from his fighting knowledge.

G-S-P! G-S-P! There's too much drama with UFC now, but I guess that's what's attracting more and more people... instead of the ol' pound them til they tap goodness that I liked.

Damn!  I'm a MMA fanboy, and i'd love to meet fighters or even practice.  Actually, there's a small group in Hong Kong that does do MMA.

Shogun Vs. Machida 2 - I pick Machida.  The problem for Shogun is that he must be aggressive to win the fight, whether it be through decision or KO.  Machida is a counter pouncher, so aggression will work in his favor.  I just hope it won't be a repeat of S vs. M 1

Not everyone subscribes to Showtime, but if you haven't seen the Robbie Lawler v. Melvin Manhoef fight you should check it on Youtube. Manhoef almost broke Lawlers leg off before Lawler stayed in the pocket and timed a perfect right hook one punch KO.  It's only 3:50 of round 1, so you can probably check it out at work.

I watch it on Yahoo Sports... Just pay for it, hook your comp to your TV and showtime...

Seems that GSP has a little bit of an edge in the fight, but Hardy is a tough hadcore kick ass... So it will be an interesting fighting.

Machida and Shogun will be war, I am with Shogun...

But what i am really waiting for is Anderson Silva in Abu Dhabi (UFC 112) , tho the fight would be much more interesting if he was getting Belfort

Wow...that's a helluva knock-out. So funny the way a fight can end up.

More than one minute later, Melvin was still on the ground trying to recover. Now that's what a call a KO

I love MMA, but can someone explain to me what is going on over the last 12 to 18 months.  It's all striking.  I haven't seen a true takedown with ground and pound, or submission attempts in a long time.  This really worries me.  I think so many have perfecteed their takedown defense that the only thing left is striking and kicking.  I think that really "dumbs down" the sport and makes it more ordinary and predictable.  The sport has gotten to be much more defensive over the last couple of years.  Takedown defense, submission defense, defending from your guard (provided you're ever on your back).  It's getting a little bit boring.  Does anyone have an explanation or am I the only one noticing this?
