The are worth nothing, and the people who report them just refeed the crap that has been said to them by LE who are constantly patting themselves on the back for a job well done.  Sophisticated my ass... this isn't MK brothels ran by triads, it's two people pimping out girls.  2 million dollar bail is way excessive when you think about the people who do armed robbery get on average 75k bail and accused murderers don't even get 2 million dollar bails.  The US law system is all fucked up and the LE is even worse.

When we think twice this service actually preventing rapping criminal, what do you think bros?

I think the only reason they raided this place was because of the human trafficking suspicion.  The cops made it clear to the reporter that this is what started the investigation.  Otherwise, as long as they kept a low profile, I don't think the cops would bother them.  But LAPD invested 3 years in this case, and when they turned up no human trafficking they had to go ahead and bring the business down and splash the arrest in the newspapers.  Otherwise, they wasted too much LAPD budget for nothing.   I also agree with you about the excessive bail for the brothel owners; it sounds like local politics at work.

It's well known in my area, that LE are routinely given freebies to be a "friend" of the business and protect the owner's interests.  I'm sure it's the same in China and everywhere else.  Politicians too, look at Elliot Spitzer in New York.  Although he did pay for his sex, I'll give him credit for that.

I usually spend my summers in the LA area and have patronized these Apartrment based brothels that's all over the place around Monterey Park + Alhambra. (Pasadena is just north of Alhambra) - but the rate was $150 last summer - not $200 as was quoted here.

These operations are for the most part pretty well Mom + Pop operations with the biggest problem for them being the constant coming and going of cars to the place - making it difficult to conceal the fact that something is happening/having neighbours complain as they can't find parking for thier own cars.  Some of these operators will ferry in punters from a nearby busy shopping mall car parks.

I cannot see that it took 3 years to "crack" this and that they would think it involves human trafficking as this kind of operation has been going on there for at least 15 years and just about everybody around there knows this goes on. If you want to get this kind of "play," all you pretty well need to only do is chat with just about any waiter in a Chinese restaurant  there and he'll be able to give you a phone number or a contact.

Yep, and I have to say these places rival HK for quality, service and price (maybe 50% more expensive for roughly equal quallity and service).  The girls are 20 to 26 or so normally, and are from Taiwan, Korea, Indonesia and Singapore mostly.  I've heard most are in the U.S. on tourist visas, turning tricks like crazy while they are here.  I've talked to many and heard a lot of stories. The apartments are normally very clean with nice bedroom and shower, sometimes there is another girl there in the unit with her (and sometimes she has her own client there) so be careful to take a towel to the shower with you.  

Xiaodidi -- you definitely need to go this route if you haven't already.  you will be very satisfied, i think.

I will defer to SEAJ my experince is in the bay area. But I'm sure if you go to craigslist and search asian massage you will hit the jackpot. Naw.  You might be correct, because a 'sex slavery' bust reads well for political campaigns, but it's much more likely that they were just pissing off the neighbors with the additional traffic.  The story said that they operated out of apartment complexes (pretty common for AAMPS here in California, hence the name).  Just imagine the extra, all male, traffic a 2 bedroom whorehouse generates.  In a typical apartment complex that extra foot traffic is going to stand out and get any number of complaints to the police.

If nobody's complaining then the cops usually ignore these places, until election time and some enterprising DA wants to make a name for himself.

I don't like it when things like that happen.  I hope things will turn out well for them.  It means there are less quality high end call girls around.  It is one of the major risks to date a high end call girl because of the so call black book that might have your name and phone number.  Still most of the time the high ends as a matter of professional courtsey usually destroy their black books unless they were madam heidi "fliske?" I'm not too sure of her last name.

I am sure LAPD has better things too do then busting up a whore house. What waste of taxpayers money.
