pacquaio vs cotto

Did any of you watch this fight? I really thought Pac man might lose this one, since Cotto is prbly the biggest fighter he's faced, but man, was I wrong. Pac man basically destroyed Cotto. I would really like to see him fight Mayweather next. Now that would be a great fight! But in all the interviews, Mayweather just seems to dodge Pacman. Hopefully this will back him in a corner and force him to fight.

Also, I thought it was sad when they showed Cotto's wife and kid in the crowd while he was getting whooped on. She was clearly disturbed by it and the kid had an absolute look of shock. IMO, he should not have brought his kid there. It must be a very traumatizing thing watching your dad being a punching bag.

Cotto's corner should have thrown in the towel when he was clearly taking a beating. The shots he took in the later round are the kind that change your life.

^agreed. but from what they're saying, cotto refused to let them throw in the towel. he wanted to end it in the ring. everyone is saying how much heart cotto has, and he did prove it, but at some point, he should think about how this might impact his life later on. the boxing officials ordered him to skip the post-fight press conference to go get a scan. let's hope that the results will turn out ok for him.

I've watched several Pacquio fights before but man he destroyed Cotto out there. After teh first several rounds, it seemed that Cotto might have a chance to win but I think after the second  knockdown by pacquio just stunned him and he was getting his ass beat in the later rounds. Still a good fight, got money's worth

Thank you Lord Rico. Somehow I sensed that you would be the first one to congratulate me. I am still playing catch up with you.

welcome to the Lord club VG!

I was a llttle worried that PacMan might have major problems with a bigger opponent, especially after the first couple of rounds.  But after the 3rd round, he started to really dominate.  Rounds 2-4 were the most action-filled rounds since Hagler-Hearns 25 years ago - this was a classic.  In a way it was too bad it turned lopsided - this would have been more of a classic had Cotto simply been knocked out in say the 6th round rather than taking the beating.

It was a great fight!

But I have my doubts a Mayweather fight will ever happen for the PacMan.  Floyd Mayweather has had a reputation for ducking top quality opponents (including Cotto, Margarito, etc) and Pacquiao is at the top of the top.

Yup VG. The knockdowns in 3rd and 4th rounds must have stunned Cotto. It was more like he was trying to stay in the fight than giving pacman a really hard time. It was a good fight to watch though. and pacman was giving cotto credits in his post-fight press, saying cotto was a tough opponent, taking a lot of solid punches and still keep fighting (either that is giving credit or blowing his on horn).

And VG, congrats on the Lordship!
