The guy who refused to fill in his Health Declaration form

Has anyone read/heard about this guy who's been fined HKD$500 for refusing to fill in the 'Health Declaration' form?
It's been reported that he returned to HK sometime in May this year and refused to disclose where he had been. The authorities had no choice but to call the police in and now the dude has been fined. Think this is the first public prosecution for this offence.

I wonder where the guy went to in China and what he did?

sounds like a crusader - can't see he'll get any sympathy, with the schools going back and the Health Department in panic mode about an outbreak ...

all abit silly really. there are throngs of HK people crossing the many borders from
the mainland back to HK daily. i mean even without the health declaration form to complete,
they have to scan their ID cards at the immigration checkpoint on their return to HK. seriously,
if the HK government really wanted to misuse their private info/travel info or whatever, they wouldn't
really need a health declaration form to do that?

even if this guy had an issue with filling the form, he could just simply write: "China" on the travel history
part. the health declaration guys don't really insist on the actual city like "Shenzhen" or whatever. he has
done himself up really well this time - instead of protecting his private info like he sought to do, now
the papers are all over it. so much for that eh.

plus he is down 500HKD...could have had a good session with a 141 walk-up or a couple of BBS shots.

right - so it's obvious he's not really out to protect his privacy, if that was his issue he'd simply write something on the form - he's simply ranting against Big Brother, as per his statement he wants to sue the government.  Good luck trying to get a barrister to help him if he tries!!

This kind of uncooperative barbaric attitude is common place in HK.  To see how bad it is just look at Legco!!  throwing bananas and shouting obscenities at the CFO really makes me feel ashamed of being Chinese!!

Totally agreed with you.... but I think for the issue in Legco, it is kind of like a political show......
Anyway, I think his the guy's action against government is not likely to be successful, if any.

This is BS , I've travelled through many countries and ALL countries ask you for it bar open borders Europe,

Hell entering Mongolia I had the shits and was sick for weeks before arriving at the Mongol border, I lied on the health declaration form and left no contact details they still let me in , even though I was holding in a pint of runny shit in my bowels praying they'd be quick in immigration.

Its a box ticking exercise tbh to make the government look as if they are doing something.

Life is short very...
