does anyone know when the iPhone 3GS comes out?

i know it's out in US... but why does HK get shafted and get a "July" release?

anyone have any clues as to when it'll come out? and any idea on the price on one without contract?

thx

why get an iphone 3gs for a higher price when you can have there function if you jailbreak the 3g version but only difference would be the 1 mp higher resolution but overall they would be the same for 8g and 16g capacity but 3gs has 32g version... i have now a 16gb but never got to use all the memory...

According to a Three HK source, they are testing the new iPhone 3G S model at the moment. Haven't really been given an exact date and pricing of the new phone but will keep everyone posted if I get any news.

I want the iPhone 3G S too. Better camera and video functionality.

I've already jailbroken my iPhone 3G with the 3.0 OS and a massive improvement over 2.2.1

The process takes a while but well worth it.

The jailbreak process is a more simplier and streamline process than the previous version.

Heard rumours about HK$7K for import version for 16GB version. No recession in Hong Kong!

Would wait for the official release in HK - not long since it will come out in July.

For 10K, I could get the official 32GB iPhone 3GS and try one of the Japanese girls in D1 and still have change.

The iPhone 3G S models - from the US - are now available in Hong Kong. Pity they sim-locked and cannot be used until some genius can bypass this problem

The price for the 16GB is roughly HK$6,000 and HK$7,000 for the 32GB version.

Can't get any concrete news from my Three HK source but they will make an announcement this Thursday on pricing. The iPhone 3GS will be available for purchase on 10th July.

The news can be found - http://iPhone.three.com.HK/website/en/press004.html

i own a iphone 3g also but i did notice that when i upgraded to 3.0 OS the speed of my phone dropped.  Especially when opening sms or typing sms messages.

3.0 OS seems to be more tailored for the faster iphone 3gs

Depends on which model you want. For 16GB, have to cough up HK$3,580 or HK$4,380 for 32GB.

You can sell your iPhone 3G in Mong Kok for roughly HK$3K so not much to pay extra. Will get mine tomorrow

Seems Apple won't be selling stand alone phones for a while but that just rumors at the mo.

The 8GB is worth around 2K...

Yeah, Three (HK) and Apple have an agreement according to a Three source. Was Apple who set the pricing model for the iPhone 3GS...

Well, The iPhone 3GS is now officially out now. On the Apple site for Hong Kong, the price is HK$6288 for the 32GB. Now I guess the Phone shops in and around Hong Kong will not be able to make money out of it. Lets go and trade-in the 3G and upgrade. As the speed is now there.

Going for it tmr
