First time in HK. 5* Hotel Question.

I just arrived in Hong Kong for the first time and am staying at The Peninsula.

The hotel policy states that unregistered guests must leave by midnight and are not allowed to enter after midnight.

I don't imagine that they would actually visit my room and ask someone to leave, but I'm concerned about the second part. Does anyone know if this policy is actually enforced?

My employer paid for the room, which allows me to pay for the roommate.

Haven't stayed at the Peninsula, but the Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Ritz, Four Seasons, and Cordis don't enforce any late night guest policy.

I would say that customer service is their top priority. Competition in the tourist industry is fierce and they definitely don't want to piss off the business or corporate client because they are more likely to be repeat customers.

If your employer is paying for your room, all you should be concerned about is making sure you find a girl who is not going go on a naked bender in the hallways or moan loudly. You don't want your employer to get wind of your activities in a company-paid room.

No one care unless you are organizing a crazy party or doing something there which is high annoying other customers.
And don't make your room a crime scene which is all good.

Ive always wondered about that. If you end p paying for the room mate and register her as a guest. Doesn't that mean she will have full access to your room? Like she can get a room key... charge things to the room... etc...?
