Beware WeChat Scam.

Over the weekend, little bro wanted some action and found a couple of appealing profiles on WeChat.  I sent a quick greeting to a couple of prospective WG and got a quick reply asking if little brother needed to be serviced.  Yes, Yes, Yes, I said and asked how much.  2 hrs for $1000, unlimited shots.  Thank god for the translate function.  The price was right, so I jumped at the chance and ran down to the MTR to catch a train to TST.  I get to the hotel, text, and get a reply asking to go buy a Pay Treasure card.  WTF, what is a pay treasure card???  Go to a convenience store she says, they will know.  I go next door and find a VanGo and they have no idea.  I am hesitant to show them my phone with the text messages as they will immediately know what is up.  So being embarrassed I run over to 7-11.  Big mistake as there are some teenage girls working the register.  I say who cares, they will never see me again so I show them the messages.  Immediately they know, ok, you want an alipay card.  They come in different denominations with one being $1000.  Perfect, and then she drops the bomb, it is $1000 RMB.  Ok, with the exchange rate it is nearly $1300 HKD.  She says it is only the first time when I will need the alipay card.  Little bro gets the best of me so I say ok and head back to the E Hotel.  She asks for a photo of the recharge code, so I comply while covering the PIN.  She then texts, no more hourly rates for rooms and asks for more money.  Another $2000 is needed to pay for the room but says she will pay back half.  Ok, the spider sense is tingling and we get into an argument about paying more.  I then just say forget about it and I'll see you tomorrow when the rooms are cheaper and just head over to Champagne Court to blow a load.

But wait, it isn't over yet.  She keeps texting and the following day we set up an appointment.  I go over and again, she asks for another $1000 after I'm in the hotel lobby.  I'm not going to pay nearly $2.6k for 2 hours of fun.  I'd rather go to Macau.  So, I refuse again and text another WG.  She immediately replies and says to meet her at the MTR.  Great I say, so I head over and when I get there, she again asks for the alipay card.  God, here we go again.  I give her the photo of the alipay card from Sunday and says she also needs the PIN.  Thinking WTF, I say screw it, here it is.  She then says that they have to check which is probably when they are emptying the recharge code.  I get a reply saying it is invalid and they want the other alipay card.  I think to myself it is probably the same papasan and refuse.  I guess with only a 6 digit numeric code it is simple to crack.  Time to cut my losses at $1.3k HKD and head back home.

I tell them I'm going to call the police and all hell breaks loose, with 2 WG's texting that I better not get them into trouble.  It is one of my police buddies I call and he tells me it is easier to drop it so I don't get either myself or the WG into trouble.  He asks me to send the WeChat ID but don't know how far he will go.  One thing though is that at least one of them is female as she sent a voice message.  I don't know what she said but she didn't seem mad and the tone seemed friendly.  Maybe, I'll just stick to walk ups and saunas for now on.

...you're an idiot.  But then you already knew that, right?

You knew where this was going from the outset and still you did it.  You knew why they wanted the PIN, and still you caved in and sent it.  Why the self-destruct sequence?

Hi Bro,

Your LB must have been throbbing and took all your blood which left your big brain no blood to realize how obvious this scam is!
I suggest you stick with walk ups, HGs or bar girls and put your not so smart phone away.

Had one encounter in the past via WeChat and was pretty amazing.  I thought I would try it again.  The difference this time was that the WG was Chinese vs. Phil.  My buddy borrowed my WeChat ID and is following up to see if they can catch the guy.  Keeping my identity quiet unless they find him.  Her ID is still active so not too smart on their count.  They don't really care about the WG.

This scam is happening in nearly every country. Its less likely to happen if you have the lady visit you.

Had the same experience. But lucky enough I didn't let LB take control of me. First they tried 1000 then 200. Lots of alarm bells ringing. I just left and went home.
