In my experience playing Dice in countless KTV's in HK, China, Macau, and the US...its always been Liar's Dice. I can count on one hand the times we''ve tried other games...and it never lasted more than a round or two. Liar's Dice is the universal IMHO.
That said, I've played to many rules variations in Liar's; re-rolls (in event of no pairs), minimum # of "1" you may call on first roll, to whom/which direction you may pass your call to, who can pull (call your bluff), and even double-or-nothing call your bluff, and a dozen other "local" rules.
I love the Mei Mei's who can play completely by hand-gestures alone...convenient across a big room in an overly-loud KTV environment.
