Recommend a particular clinic on HK island for STD checkup?

I'm looking for recommendations for specific places to get a full checkup for every STD at an affordable price. I suppose that English isn't necessary but it would be nice. Just something straightforward. A month ago I did a WG without a cover. Hopefully somewhere that also accepts appointments since I've heard that a lot of times people go and wait for hours in the waiting room...

I don't know any clinics in HK but I had a similar experience in April (my brains and my balls tend to swap places some times) and had to visit a Sexual Health Clinic in the UK on my return.
They carried out some blood tests for gonorrhoea and hepatitis but told me to come back after three months for the HIV test. The doc said there is a possibility of false positive results if the test is done earlier.
I thought of getting one done privately but decided not to as I would have freaked out if it had been positive and then had to wait three months for another test to check.
For me that would have been three months of hell.
I expect a HK clinic would be happy to take your money immediately so thought this information might be helpful to you.
I'm all clear and expect you will be too. Good luck.

The easiest places to go are the government Social Hygiene Clinics. I have used the one in wanchai and if you go right when they open, you'll be done within an hour. It's entirely free if you're a HKID holder.

The big hangup I know other bros have is that you have to show your HKID. For reference's sake, I once went for a test in MK at the AIDS' concern, and they are completely anonymous, but they said treatment would still have to be done elsewhere: they only do diagnosis.

There is a sticky thread that has details on clinics, if you're interested in paying. I seem to recall another bro quoting 3,000 HK for a full set of panels and labwork.

Good luck. Get tested for yourself and anyone else who might be important to you.

Clinics: http://www.dh.gov.hk/english/tele/tele_chc/tele_chc_shcm.html

take your pick - they're free - but yes you'll have to sit in the waiting room for an hour or so for a walkin consultation.  You also have to go back (and wait again) to get the results.

If you want a faster service - Neo Health in Central
http://www.neohealth.com.hk/en/hk-sexual-health-centre.html

but you'll pay $$ for the private-clinic experience.  Tests are the same of course, but they'll happily sell you additional tests the government clinic doesn't do, and then you can get the results by email or phone, especially if they're negative.

Interesting, thanks! Yeah, I saw the thread. I was looking for specific recommendations (address or name) and general price.

I don't have a HKID though. Is that going to be a problem? I'm just a temporary visitor, not a permanent resident.

Found the list of fees for NeoClinic:

www.std-hiv-clinic.hk/Products.asp?CategoryID=12

And for the government health centers:

www.dh.gov.hk/english/useful/useful_fee/useful_fee_ls.html

Would it be worth it to get a HKID just for the free health screenings? Would I need to be a permanent resident though?

I called into the Wan Chai government clinic and here's the lowdown:

If you're a traveler or visitor without a HK ID card, you have to pay $1,110 HKD every time you visit the clinic. That means paying when you come in to take the tests and AGAIN when you come in to get your results.

That's $2,220 HKD already in just administrative costs.

I'm going to call NeoHealth and see if they have the same requirements.

OK, so for visitors without a HK ID card, NeoHealth is it.

They don't require an ID (of any kind, not even your home country's).

There is a flat fee of $2,400 HKD for the basic STD test.

They take credit card payments! The government clinics do not - cash only.

Setting an appointment was really straightforward.

Spoke English just fine.

The government clinics on the other hand are $2,220 HKD in admin fees on top of other fees like the lab tests for non-HKID holders.
