Getting to Huizhou and logistics

Hey guys I'm thinking about making a trip sometime soon to check out some Huizhou saunas as I have heard good things. Any bros out there who know Huizhou well and go there a lot, I have a few questions

What is the fastest way to get from Hong Kong to Huizhou and what are the departure points? I see that there is only one train to Huizhou per day?

Is it possible to take a taxi from Shenzhen Lowu to Huizhou?

Can I go to Huizhou with just the Shenzhen special temporary visa? Will my passport be checked if I just take the bus and visit the sauna then return Shenzhen at night?

Thanks all!

You can take a bus that departs from the Shun Tak Ferry Terminal.

Huizhou is large, I assume you mean Danshui, (this is analogous to the relationship between Changping and Dongguan). If you're in Lowu SZ, just go to the bus station and find the bus that goes to Danshui. It is less than an hour so it's very close.

For the Shenzhen 5-day visa - yes, you can. I did go outside Shenzhen and passports are not being checked. Chances are small, but if you get into trouble with police though, expect double trouble. Play stupid foreigner who can't read Chinese and didn't know his visa was for SZ only. Oh, and you can't check in at a hotel with that visa. Even if the hotel allows you, they scan all passports/visas and send them to the police. So if you stay at the sauna, it will be fine; if not, don't play until late at night and just go back to Shenzhen to stay in a hotel.

Best is to get there by cross-border bus, I think. A bus from Lo Wu will be dirtier/less comfortable. Buses should run from all major stations - the one in Sheung Wan near CTS, the one in Jordan etc.

Pooner,
Yours is the second post I read so far regarding Huizhou and Danshui. What goes on there? I'm a regular visitor of that place (have a LT gf there) and would like to occasional dessert... Care to share the hunting ground there?

BTW, as you exit the Luohu immigration, just look to diagonally to the right you should see the bus station. At the corner of the station that is closest to the immigration exit (just next to the luggage scanner as you enter the bus station), that is the bus that goes to Danshui. If you catch the white bus (40rmb one way), you might get a coupon for a free return to Luohu. The last time that I was there was a month back so I'm not sure if the promotion is still on.
