Quezon City bar area?

Looks like I will be spending some time in Quezon city Philippines, can an expert recommend a hotel/apartment
smack in the middle of the bar and night clubs. this is my first visit so I know nothing about the areas and
the more I search the more confused I get.
I have been recommended Timog which appears to be a street is this right amongst the night life.

Sorry if this has been answered before but with searching so many sites it can get very confusing on where is best suited for me
