Girl friendly hotel in Ho Chi Minh City?

Anyone recommend a hotel in HCMC that allows girls in the room after 10pm?   Needs to be of reasonable standard, with a safe.   Cheers.

There's a chain called A & EM hotels, which can be found all over Saigon.
Some of their hotels are girl friendly, others aren't.

Was staying in the A & EM close to the market, in Thu Khua Huan (something like this) street, girl friendly.
Check their website for information about safes in rooms.
Great hotel though, Breakfast on the roof, nice bar in the lobby with a reeeaaaly cute barkeeper girl and there's also a BBS on the opposite side of the street

The hotel i stayed in (Spring Hotel) is supposed to be girl friendly.
I did not try though due to the walk of shame.
If you pick a A&EM hotel in DongKhoi or Hai Bai Trung, it should increase your chances since that is where all the wg are.

Spring Hotel is GF, and cheap, but as timewaster said you'll have to check your girl in as you cross the lobby.  Pretty normal for HCMC.  Rarely you can find a hotel where the elevators are not within site of the front desk, or where you have to go up a floor for the restaurant, etc., so you can sneak your babe in, but this is uncommon and I've been busted (by the damn cleaning lady!   ) before.

Dong Khoi and Hai Bai Trung streets (in District 1) will also tend to be more expensive for girls (either freelancers or massage joints).

Most 3 star hotels in HCMC are GF with a requirement that you register your girl.  Occasionally I get surprised by a 3 star that won't allow girls without a second room booked, so your worst case scenario is that you have to get another room (which is usually very cheap in these places).

I didn't do it.  Really I didn't.

Thanks for the replies.  Just booked A & EM 19 Dong Du for hk$329 inc taxes per night via Agoda, so happy with that.  Hotel was recommended in fishyfingers excellent report on his week in HCMC last year.  http://forum.sex141.com/eforum/v ... 2BMinh%2Bor%2Bhotel

If you don't mind the extra step, you can search hotels on Agoda, then google the one you like and book with them directly.  They will almost always match the internet rate, but a direct booking is generally soooooooo much easier to change or cancel without penalty.  Agoda is harder to modify one's booking.

Unusually Agoda was quite a lot cheaper this time.   The hotel quoted me US$ 25 for a airport pick up.  Is it staight forward enough to get an honest one at the airport?

$25 is a major ripoff.
It should not cost  you more than $10.
outside of the baggage claim, in HCM airport, there is a counter when someone will book a taxi for you.
you give her the address, you pay and she gives you a voucher which you then give to one of the taxi outside.

Whoa Timewaster before you waste UKPhooey's time (and money!).

You are correct that it's typically more like 100,000-200,000VND to get to downtown (that equates to $5-10USD), however one does not need to use the airport counter for a cab.  Just stroll out to the curb and get a Vinasun, Mai Linh or Saigon Tourist taxi and you'll be fine.  Insist on using the meter (never a problem with Vina and Mai Linh, sometimes you get a haggling driver with Saigon Tourist).  Late at night, you can sometimes get a driver that will beg for a tip, but tipping is rare in HCMC, slip him a 1,000-5,000VND note if you liked him.

Me, I take the $25USD airport pickup if I'm arriving late.  For most hotels this will be a spiffy new toyota or mercedes with great air conditioning and a guy meeting you at the exit with your name on the sign.

The Vina and Mai Linh taxis will have dispatchers in uniform (look for the logo on their ties) and that's how you "get in line" at the curb.

On hotels, I've always found the front desk will match any Agoda rate, and since my travel frequently changes it's worth the extra step to book with the front desk: no deposit, no change fees, no lost deposits.  Even if I had to pay $10 more per night I'd do it, but then like I said, my travel changes a lot and with Agoda I'd be forfeiting lots of deposits.

i took the airport counter going from the airport & took a metered cab going back to the airport.
The price was about the same.
If you take a meter cab, keep in mind there is an extra fee going to/from the airport that is added on top of the meter fare.
