Just want to share this, with anyone that cares.....

My GF works at Sanado as a room attendant, she has been doing 'Captain' job now for 4 months, They are so tight that she hasn't been paid this 'extra money'.

She is expected to not only be 30 mins early for work each day (if you are late you get deducted points..... so many points deducted = a fine) but to also attend after hours meetings. If she does not attend one meeting, then its an immediate $300mop deduction. Quite a lot considering they only get $5000mop for working the whole month!

Now she needs to attend a medical on friday, this has been requested by the Australian Government. All documents are supplied to Sanado. They now tell her she can't go.

As she HAS to attend (luckily we still have her passport, which is normally kept by Sanado to make sure the employee's do not run away), she will not go back to work. This means that the last 3 weeks, she has worked for nothing, as they will not pay her a penny for the work that she has performed there.

She has worked there for 4 years now, never taking a 'sickie', always on time and worked back when requested to. This has been for no extra pay.

This sauna treats their staff worse then dogs.

All you mongerers out there, spare a thought for the girls that work behind the scene, and how they are treated.

I dont know if the government can help, but they will be reported to the authorities in the way that they treat staff. Hopefully something will come of it.

not that I don't believe your story, but i do have a couple questions.

1) why is the AU government requesting a medical, if she's not even in AU right now?

2) was she officially promoted to Captain, and thus had to re-sign her employment agreement with the new salary in place?

I know East start has a very good handle on their girls.  One of the massage girls said that if they are caught coming into work without makeup, they get fined (or points deducted, not sure which).  But it doesn't seem like they are "horribly" treated like you say.

Yes, they might not be generously compensated, but who is in this region of the world in this line of work.

Also, are you sure your GF isn't exaggerating her work conditions to extract more pity from you?

What dogman shared about the working environment in a Sauna is about right in this part of the world.
In China, it is far worse for massage/ KTV and Sauna gals. Penalty this and that.
Same rules and procedures apply to MAcau's saunas.
On one had, the establishment pays you salary, but on another theyu penalised you for all the little fuck stupid shits.

PEnalities such as:
1. Complain from customer
2. Room not properly clean up after sess.
3. Not performing the full list of acitivities offered.
4. LAte for work
5. Getting off early for work
6. Unplanned/ Emergency day off / Sick or no sick
7. Using the customer's area toilet.
8. Session over the alloted time.
9. customer leaves before the alloted time.
and more..................

The establishment will hold the gals $$ (in arrear) if she leaves the company.
e.g. The sauna pay day is 1st Feb. Gal got the Jan's pay/tips/etc on 1st Feb. Then she works until 15th Feb and left the company. The sauna usually will refuse to pay the arrear for the 15 days in February.
They are filthy evil!!!
So these gals usually prefer you to pay in Cash. Cash means immediate salary at day end. IF you pay with credit card, then they have to wait untill the pay day.

Regarding AU Govt medical request, probably bro dogman is trying to rescus her and bring her to AU and get married.   
Our bro is a good samaritan to the rescue.

It's not just WG.  I have friends in retail here that get deducted for all kinds of things.  And they will not pay partial months if you leave.  You have to give notice more than a month in advance, and it will not be accepted if you haven't worked there long enough.  Sometimes a year.

I would be interested in hearing more details about the "behind the scenes" of Sanado.

I would tend to believe whatever is said above regarding penalties for silly shit and Sanado being stingy. One of the staff there has been bitching to me about how he/she is doing a higher grade job now but still getting paid at the lower grade.

I also verified this "penalty-culture" with one of the massage girls in Sanado that I'm pretty chill with.

It all feels so evil but at the end of the day, it helps to maintain good service for punters like us. So I suppose it cuts both ways.

This penalty culture is all over China. I got fined for having a messy desk over a six sigma inspection. I got so pissed of that I made sure to get last place on my cleanness inspection every month.

If we are talking about china, no government can help. Nothing to do with anyone else but the chinese government. All these penalties are very common in China and it comes with low pay and other shit. What do you expect. 1.3 billion people. All looking for jobs. All willing to go lower pay than the other and all willing to work like shit! No work=no pay=no food! China is a dog eat dog world. What your GF did is what the chinese call normal! For us, it's called unfair treatment or even slavery! Hahaha. That is their way of life. Sad but true!

@gmpink - Yeah, this penalty culture is quite standard across the Macau saunas. So Sanado is no more evil/angel than the other players in Macau. From what I know, the Thai/Viet/Russian girls have it a bit better since they are actually legally in Macau on work visas.

Yes, she needs a medical to come to Australia for anything longer then 3 months.

We did the medical yesterday, all it involved was a few questions and an Xray.

She was 'forced' to do captain, i know of quite a few of these indonesian girls that work in Sanado, having met and had dinner with quite a few.

She did not want to do captain, but was forced to, however she is now into month 4 and she still hasnt been paid the extra $1500mop as promised.

Re employment contract, she and all the girls I have spoken to have not signed any contract at all, again this is common at Sanado. It is against the labour laws, but as everyone says, this is china....... so going against the law is common.

I have been living here now for over 2 months..........

My GF has no reason to lie to me, in fact I have seen so many of her friends 'lie' about things, little things....... but so far she hasn't .... well at least nothing important.

Oh.....

I contacted Labour Law, who told me that holding on to passports is in fact illegal, and for the affected people to simply call the Police to help.

As if that would help with the amount of corruption here.... but at least it was good to know.

They also said that if she doesnt get paid properly, lodge a complaint with the department.

Horribly treated:

Being made to go in on their one day off at a time, for a supposed 'meeting', where nothing of importance is raised....

if late (read that as if you are later then the 20 mins early that you are supposed to be at work by), then deduct points.

So many points deducted = loss of pay

not enough make up on = deduct points

hair not tied up properly = deduct points

not wear correct colour uniform = deduct points

sometimes the uniform MUST be purchased by the individual (like soccer promotion)

3 monthly health check paid for by employees - $500mop - does it really cost THAT much or is it corrupt money too? This fee is paid to Sanado NOT to the health clinic.

This month, they were told they cant bring their own food into work nor coffee.

if you talk too loud between each other = deduct points

complaint against you = deduct points

I agree with SOME of this to make sure operations run smoothy, but when the girls only get paid $5000 mop per month, and you start deducting salary, it makes their life even more unbearable.

and before anyone says, YES I am only hearing the stories from the girls side, and not the managers side.

As we all know, Sanado is part of the EAST START group, which also owns East Spa and Dynasty nightclub.

I am glad my GF no longer works for them. Here's hoping they dont cut her blue card too early and we are able to stay here until the visa is sorted out.......

There's one thing I'm curious and hope you won't mind answering. How did you meet your girl? At the sauna? Does it bother her that you frequent such places? Yours is thefirst time I heard of a guy getting into relationship with a room attendant. If my boat were to sink, it'll most likely be one of the WGs or massage girls. Not judging you in anway...just curious.
