HK airport to DG

I've never actually went directly from HK airport to DG, China before.  Previously, I've always stayed in HK for a few days before taking the train across to SZ before a slow trek via buses to DG.  If you go directly from HK airport to DG, what's the most efficient (in terms of time) route to go?  What about the least expensive route.  Looking at a few airport bus terminals, they only take you as far as the border.  I suppose you'll have to find another ride on the other side?

It's actually very easy.

Follow the signs to China Coach (buses that go to China)
There will be ladies in Orange/Green and others in blue/white.  Those are two competing companies.
anyway, ask if they go to DG.
One of them, I think it's E and E goes to DG.  If both goes to DG, then you've got options.
The cost should be 200 rmb (or 210 rmb).  They also take HKD at its equivalency.
The mini-van (seats up to 9) runs every 20-40 minutes.
In the mini-van, they have entrance papers that you might need to get into China (but you'll need to have a Visa).
You don't need to get out of the mini-van.  The mini-van will go through Shenzhen Customs border.
Time to SZ about 30 minutes.
Once you get to SZ, you will need to change mini-vans.  The wait is probably 20-40 minutes.  Sometimes much less.
They'll ask you where to drop you off in DG.  They have like 3 locations.

Good luck.  It's cheap, fast, convenient, and if less people in the mini-van quite comfortable.  If there are 7-9 people, it's crammed.

That indeed is the best option! When I used it, they had a whole list of destinations in DG that they can take you to, including many of the bigger hotels. I took one directly to Royal Garden once, and it was super efficient.

Isn't it faster just to get to the Lowu border crossing and take the fast train instead?

I've gotten into HKIA at 10 pm a few times.  The shuttle mini-bus goes to DG until 9:00 pm.

In that case, you'd have to know when the Louwu Customs close.  I think it's 12 am or a bit before that.
So what I had to do was take the mini-van to the other border (starts with an H, but I forgot the full name).  That border is open 24 hours a day.
From there, I could call a private car to take me to DG (approx 200 - 300 rmb).  It's high, but when it's 1 am and you really wanna get to DG, it's the only option.
Another time, I took a cab to Louwu and went to a Sauna there.  Same thing.

But if you take the Shuttle Train (Airport shuttle) to Hong Kong, you'd have to make a few transfers to get to Louwu.  Then from Louwu, you can go to DG.
It's another option, but more 'scenic' and you'd have to transfer a lot more.  Plus all the waiting for the trains to come.

To get to DG from HKIA is easy enough.  Again, walk to China Coach section, look for E and E (or something comparable), get on the mini-van, and in 2-3 hours, you'll be in DG.  You transfer once, but they'll walk you to the next mini-van.

HKIA is awesome to get to where you want.  It's truly a great hub to HK and Southern China.

I don't suppose you know of any coaches/bushes from LouWu to DG after 10 PM?  Thanks for the detailed info!

If you are already in Lowu:

Take the train

It's half an hour and there are 5 trains after 10pm coming every 10 min.
