Macau or Hong Kong in 3 nights

Hi Guys,

I will be in hong kong for 3 nights and I don't know how to split this up. I arrive on the Thursday and leave Sunday night. I have been to Macau before and loved but I have never travelled in hong kong. Don't where're to spend the first nightin hong kong and the other 2 in macau or vice versa? What are your guys recomendations? I'm more interested in girls and nightlife.

Also any recomendations of what hotels to stat at which are close to the action? I'm also travelling solo.

Thanks

Hello, What time will you arrive in HK thursday and what time will you be leaving HK on sunday?
Were you able to book accomodations for this trip in advance via online booking?

I'd advise you to stick with 1 place since it's such a short stay... I don't know what it is about Macau that you like, but I find that place to be a gross demonstration of unequality, rich people showing off their money and poor people working for them. Anyway whatever suits you....

For HK stay near a hotel in Central for walk-ups, TST for hotel-girls. TST is slightly more high end than Central/Sheung Wan but you'll see action in both these places. As for Macau.... let the other bros answer.

I arrive in Hkg on Thursday at 4:30 so I'm thinking no point going to Macau at that time so I will just stay in hkg that night and check out some of the bars. Then my flight out of hong kong is at 8:30pm on Sunday which is a pain because hotel checkouts are usually at 12 so I will have to carry around my luggage. No hotels booked yet? Any recomendations?

My budget is around $1300hkd a night. I stayed at the waldo hotel where east spa is last time. This time looking for something in walking distance to the nightclubs. Same goes for in hong kong

For luggage you can leave it at hotel and pick it up later.

The other option is to check in at Kowloon or Central railway station.
These have airline check-ins. You get the boearding pass and  at aiport
you can go straight to security ceck-in. So then you only need to take care of
your carry in luggage. Even that you you can leave at the railway station
for a short time.

I've used both methods and these work well.

For Hotels, plenty of options, depends how much You want to spend.

4:30pm means after goin through immigration and travel time from the airport, it will take you to 6:00-6:30pm to get into your desired hotel in HK.
With regards to accomodations, i suggest you check out booking.com and book your hotel in HK/Macau online in advance for your convenience and it's a lot cheaper compared to walk ins.

If i were in that situation, i would first check into a hotel, rest for awhile, leave my thing and go out for dinner and hang out in bars in Wan Chai for a night of fun with some WGs.
Check out the next day (w/c is friday) lunchtime with the option of leaving your things for safe keeping at the hotel, have a hearty lunch and take a ferry to Macau in the mid afternoon.
Since you probably arrive in Macau around 4-5pm, it's your choice to book in advance a hotel for an overnight stay or just explore Macau's nightlife and take your rest and nap at your prefered Sauna till morning of Saturday.
(While in Macau, maximize the use of the free shuttle service of certain hotels from the ferry to avoid spending on taxis. Better stay within the Lisboa area where many saunas are nearby and of course dont miss the MGM Lion's Bar.)
Again take ferry back to HK around lunchtime and check in to your HK hotel where you leave your belongings. Rest and recharge the whole afternoon and once more hit the bars in Wan Chai, or LKF for a night of fun.
Check out sunday lunchtime and check in your luggages at Central so you can still do some shopping, visit a sauna, a walk up or a hotel girl in the afternoon before you take the train from Central to the airport by 6pm.

Btw, before you leave Macau for HK better drop by the Casinos and get some free bottled water. You'll need them while in HK coz bottled water in HK are expensive.

I hope my suggestions give you an idea how to maximize your stay in HK/Macau.

GOOD LUCK! Looking forward to your reports soon.

If you are more in to the bar scene than walkups/saunas then I would book yourself in to wanchai and spend your time on lockhart road.

If you are here over the weekend then you can find bar girls just about 24 hours a day.  For hotels check out agoda but would think the novotel, gdh or charterhouse should all be in budget and close to the bar scene.  As for bars hit bar 109 or players early morning, old china hand and queen victoria during the daytime, makati or j forrest early evening then neptunes or escape late night - amazonia is usually worth sticking your head in to and neptunes 3 or boracay or bar 109 on sunday afternoons are full of maids.

That is my 10 cents worth, have a great time!

If you intend to keep within the 1300HKD budget a night, Macau is definitely not the place to be (especially SNs). I think the cheapest punt is 1498?; I think Sanado and Noble have 1000HKD offers that take place during the day, but then you might as well stick to HK 141?

Perhaps bro gb728 means the 1.3k HK$ budget is for his accomodations alone nightly excluding of other expenses that comes along the way.
It will be better for him to clarify when he's back online.

Mr fast I think the OP meant 1300 a night for the hotel - can be quite tough in macau on the weekend but metropark hotel is a good one and walking distance to lisboa, mgmcluster a bit further off the track is the royal hotel but think you can get a room there for under 1k on a weekend and its not half bad

Thanks guys for the great ideas.

Yeah I ment 1300-1500 a night for the hotel.

It's been over a year since my last trip. Which nightclubs are good these in Macau and Hkg days. In Macau I remember the strip club close to the Giahotel and mp3 I think it was called. The nightclub where the strippers went after work.

i usually go to www.agoda.com and book the hotel I want. They have the best rates imo. I stayed in Lisboa last month for around 700HKD/night.

MP3 is just a block across the MGM Casino Hotel.
Mostly Filipina WGs are stationed their to entetain foreigners specially the Westerners.
Try check out the Lion's Bar inside the MGM.

Check out the prices of MetroPark Hotel, Holiday Inn Hotel, Beverly Hotel, Ole London Hotel, Emperor Hotel, Hotel Royal as some rooms cost much below your 1.3k HK$ budget.

In HK, I suggest The Harborview Hotel in Wanchai.  Good location, but they will ask guests to sign in at the desk.  It doesn't really bother me since it is for my protection as well, but some people don't like it.

Depending on the length of your flight and the time change, maybe it would be better to go to Macau the first night.  Sleep in a sauna.  I hate having to rush before a flight, so I would go back to HK.  Leave your luggage when you check out and do some walk-ups until you have to catch your flight.
